So, I get this e-mail from Mazda telling me to build and pre-order my RX-8 using their website.
I have a Nordic Green with Chaparral leather interior, 6 speed with the Grand Touring package (heated seats and mirrors, moonroof, Xenon headlights, Bose sound system, fog lamps, power seats, traction control, etc.)

All for $31,900

Now it tells me to go to my dealer to negotiate the final price....lol!
Any bets on how close THAT would be to the $31,900?

I was told today by my local Mazda dealership that they would be selling for MSRP on the first allocation and then they would be jacking the price up by $2000-3000 dollars or more for the second and third allocation. Once the demand grows, the price does too. I would assume that this is what most dealerships will be doing. If the dealership you're working with has already filled the orders for their first allocation of cars, this is probably why. If they haven't, I would go to another dealership.

If the price goes up 2-3K then I will look elsewhere for my next car.
