White_Shadows 06-12-2009, 01:53 PM He's not doing the late show anymore. He aparently is too rich to do it anymore lol. ZumnRx8 06-12-2009, 01:55 PM He's done, he retired or whatever u call it that way he has more time to drive his Rotary powered cars and that ZR1 vette. Spinning Sushi 06-12-2009, 01:56 PM Pshh... I thought it was something serious like he died or something... SayNoToPistons 06-12-2009, 02:19 PM Pshh... I thought it was something serious like he died or something... Same here. 416to212 06-12-2009, 03:05 PM Leno isn't retired... He's not gone... We'll see him again in the Fall of 2009. I've always been a fan of Conan so I'm happy to be watching him in the Tonight Show. The only thing I like about Jimmy Fallon right now are his music acts with The Roots. Feras 06-12-2009, 03:29 PM umm isnt he now moving to 10 rotarygod 06-12-2009, 03:30 PM I don't think Conan is very funny. I liked watching Leno. Headlines was funny and so was Clash of the Jaywalk allstars. Ajax 06-12-2009, 03:36 PM I never really cared for Leno and was always a big Johnny Carson fan. When Leno took over and Letterman moved, I changed the channel. I'm a big fan of Conan though and have been for quite some time. I'm glad they gave him the job. Jimmy Fallon is alright. The Roots really do make that show though. That is one hell of a band. XlYesterdaYlX 06-12-2009, 03:49 PM Im just glad conan is back. Feras 06-12-2009, 03:50 PM they better bring back the masterbating bear. Rhawb 06-12-2009, 04:53 PM Jimmy Fallon is alright. The Roots really do make that show though. That is one hell of a band. Jimmy Fallon has started putting on a decent show much faster than I expected. His first few shows were downright painful to watch, I had trouble actually keeping it on the channel because he was doing so bad I actually felt embarrassed for him. Lately though, it seems he's finding his stride and the show has been pretty funny - especially compared to the first few nights. If he keeps it up, he could turn out to be a really good host. NoOdLe BoY 06-12-2009, 10:49 PM conans the shit!!! i hate jimmy fallons show. hes not a good host IMO. a host is supposed to be the entertainer but he seems too busy "star struck" to do it. plus hes just annoying. HolyCross05 06-12-2009, 11:20 PM -Letterman is the best interviewer -Leno has the best monologue -Conan has the best skits and overall wit Jethro Tull 06-13-2009, 01:05 AM -Letterman is the best interviewer -Leno has the best monologue -Conan has the best skits and overall wit And none of them write their own material. HolyCross05 06-13-2009, 08:29 AM And none of them write their own material. Conan does myriadshalaks 06-13-2009, 08:51 AM yeah, i think conan writes some of his stuff. he was an snl writer for years. XlYesterdaYlX 06-13-2009, 09:13 AM yeah, i think conan writes some of his stuff. he was an snl writer for years. and he worked on the simpsons when it was good. Jethro Tull 06-13-2009, 09:18 AM They all write a very small amount of the total. Leno still does live stand-up and he writes all of that, but the show content requires a staff of around six writers. There's a lot of material needed for a show that runs 5 nights a week, and the hosts just can't do but a small portion of it. Even Conan doesn't write the bulk of his material. That said, they all have input and final say on what is actually produced. There are writer's meetings that the hosts sit in on, and rehearsals. You don't see a lot of jokes and skits that get cut because they just didn't work in rehearsal. myriadshalaks 06-13-2009, 09:23 AM that's not what you said before. you said: "and none of them write their own material" your quantifiers were confused or at least not clearly defined. Jethro Tull 06-13-2009, 09:31 AM You got me. I should have expressed it more accurately as: "None of them write the bulk of their own material." Better? I didn't mean to burst anyone's late-night idol bubble, sorry! BTW, when does Leno's new show start? im2smart4u 06-13-2009, 10:20 AM I don't know when this fall, other than it will be at 10. I always liked him a lot better than Conan. Conan always seemed stupid to me. I am not a big fan of his kind of humor. Raptor2k 06-13-2009, 10:21 AM Leno didn't do anything for me but make me soporific. Glad he gave Conan the show. refugeefrompistons 06-13-2009, 10:29 AM Jimmy Fallon has started putting on a decent show much faster than I expected. Lately though, it seems he's finding his stride and the show has been pretty funny - especially compared to the first few nights. If he keeps it up, he could turn out to be a really good host. I agree. I watched a couple episodes early on and they sucked. But he's grown into his job as a talk show host and has gotten significantly better. By year's end, I am sure he will be fine enough for a most viewers to enjoy. But I don't think he is dirty enough to host that time slot. He's too tame. Nothing outrageous for us young males whom normally watch Late Night. 9krpmrx8 06-13-2009, 10:41 AM Leno (and his writers) just ripped stuff off from the Howard Stern. Jay Walking and all the other skits were all done years ago by Stern. At least Jimmy Kimmle and Conan give the Stern Show credit when they do a similar skit.
