If i want to get the 8 in June, is pre-ordering the best way to go providing i can get it at the sticker price?

Remember there will be a lot of hype after the X-men movie comes out in May. Dealers will be thirsty for blood. Pre-oredering AND finding a dealer will ing to give you MSRP is the only sure way. OR you can just wait a year for the hype to die down.

People who pre-order are getting a guaranteed price - usually MSRP. As the hype increases (yes increases!) up to June (X-Men tie in adverts etc) I think the 'unallocated' cars that arrive onto dealer lots will sell for above MSRP at most dealerships until September when the next big batch of cars arive.

Thanks for the responses.

This Friday, I'm taking my parents to LA, then to the Browning Mazda at Cerritos Auto Square.

Any suggestion on any particular mazda dealer around Long Beach, CA?
