I have a head light that's out (Driver side) and was told that a lot of the time this is caused by the head light ignition... The bulb cost about 120 unless I go through a friend at a warehouse... then I can get it for about 70. But if it's the ignition then it wont matter anyway! If it is the ignition, then my warranty covers it, but if it's not the ignition then I'm out the 120 or so on diagnostics fees. Has anyone else had this problem and is there any way I can check to see if it's the head light ignition without doing the diagnostics in the shop?

I'd strongly advise against doing your own work on the HID lights, especially if you are unfamiliar with electrical issues. The "ignition" (ballast) can deliver 25,000 volts, which can ruin your whole day.

Switch the bulb that works with the drivers side bulb.

If it turns on then it is the bulb, if it doesn't turn on then it is either the ballast or wiring.
