ok so awhile ago i brought my 04 auto rx8 to a mazda dealer for a rattling noise in my engine at high rpms and the guy with all of his brilliance had never in his life heard that sound before.....so no fix. now another problem that i have is that when going up hills on a nice day my car will just lose all of its power. like i have water in my gas...once i get to to the top of the hill then it starts to gain power again. I run nothing but 91 grade fuel. Every shop i have brought it to says the same thing...Your Cat is not clogged at all. I live in montana where the air is very thin in the summer time and have done some reading. I think my problem might be with the barometric pressure sensor. So i am wondering if anyone knows how to check the sensor to see if it is working properly and if anyone knows where i can find a new one for a decent price. Thanks and let me know if there are any other questions and i will answer them the best i can

Sorry but its more like your engine is dying.
when people said "your cat is not clog at all" , did they took it off and visually test it with a strong flash light ?

I am not sure how they checked the cat because i got to sit in a very boring waiting room and listen to some fat chick screaming at her kids....when your engine died, did it do the same things that mine is?? and was it all the time?? because mine is not all the time...only when the weather is nice....it runs like a charm in the winter time.

if it only happens in winter, then Im pretty sure your engine is dying.
Have a compression test.

no in the winter time it runs fine...i will get the test done anyways though. thanks for the input. just out of curiosity how much did you pay to get a new engine?

I sorry I confused u
I meant if it "never" happens during winter, your engine is dying.
Most dealership never run tests for the Engine Lack of Power TSB. they just reflash your ECU and tells you "you're good to go"
So go back and get a compression test done. MAKE SURE they tell you what the numbers are. even better, tell them to do it in front of you, its not that hard.(with the proper tools)
