Hi All,

Have been away on holiday for two weeks and my RX8 had a flat battery, flat enough so central locking wouldnt work but lights came on in interior just about.

Hooked it up to my other car with spark plugs and it would not start, nothing. When I turn the key all the lights come on the dashboard and the light with the car and the key in it flash but nothing, wont even try to start no noise at all.

I tried to close all doors and hood relock the car and unlock again, tried again still nothing.

Any ideas?

was your other car running if not try starting it then use the jumper cables? option B buy a new battery. and a little FYI our cars alternators are not strong enough to maintain idle with all the accessories on, so if it dies at idle its not the alternator just the battery.

Hook up the jumper cables again, with the donor car running. Leave it like that for 5 or 10 minutes before trying to start it.
