Any Atlanta 8'ers? I have only seen two others in Atl. A blue one I saw pulling into ISSX and a red one at HD Support Center. Those belong to anyone here?

I own a black one...if you ever see one around the state capitol its probably me :D

Gray one here since Sept., but I've never seen another one on the road.

Got a black one and live around Turner Field.. Only seen a dark gray one at the Midtown Promenade parking lot..

I have a Nordic Green and I live on the north side of town, off 400.
I've only seen titanium, silver and a just yesterday, a red on the road. It has been kinda lonely since July.

Black with spoiler and app package. I live in Decatur. I have only so far seen two 8's on the road. One was a silver/titanium out in Douglasville near Villa Rica. The second was another black, on I-95 heading south between Charleston and Savannah.

I got a Titanium Gray 8 the week of Thanksgiving. Loved having a "unique" car for a while. Now there is a black one in the same condo complex, and a Titanium Gray one I see in the lot at work, heh.

I just wanted to say hello. I picked up my 8 on Friday and I'm loving it. So when are we going to have a meet?

I'm usually shooting the I 285 E up to Suwanee once a week...probably seen me poking around Peachtree and Buckhead...Sometimes I stop up near the Glenridge Connector off 400 to see my cousin...

i pick mine up tomorrow and i live down in jonesboro which is exit 228 (i75) and so far ive seen 2 rx-8s, one black one buy atlanta airport near the loop road and another automatic tit rx-8 which got off at my exit!!

I have a Blue with spoiler. Located downtown, can be seen on the north side of atlanta on 75 and in kennesaw all the time. Would love to meet. I have spent some time with the RX& club, they are a great group.

I have a titanium gray one. Had it since July 2003. I've seen several around town, mostly red, but only one ever bothered to wave back. :mad: The one that waved, driving a silver RX, was going into the Whole Foods parking lot down off of Ponce. :cool:

I'm guessing the others aren't board readers.

I live in Alpharetta and work over at the Cobb Galleria. I've seen a couple on 400 during my commutes. Saw a silver one going south with me yesterday morning in fact. Still had the temp tag on it. He waved back once I beeped to get his attention. I've only witnessed one butthole 8 owner so far.

Saw a nice silver today with spoiler. Guy wouldn't even wave!!! Seen around 1:00 on Windy Hill RD right off 75. Be a good guy and wave back at your brother in blue!

I'm going to be up around Windy Hill this sunday around 1pm, but I'm driving a black, so I wasn't your phantom non-waving '8 driver.

Bought the wife a Silver one, she works in Doughlasville, GA Hospitol Drive AutoZone, occationally in the south Marietta area, but no spoiler. I work at the AutoZone in Smyrna, had a meet and invited everyone(no show, except for Xavier296 thanks), then had a show on the 28th, this time no one showed. A gentleman from South Carolina was in the area, but didn't enter. We open till midnight everyday, and are willing to sponsor a meet for you all. Just let me know.

You won't catch me heading downtown on a weekday during rush hour. I imagine a weekend would be preferable to most people.

Let's shoot for the autox on 3/14. We could meet somewhere near Turner field in the a.m. and hang out before we take some laps.

Its easy to head downtown during rushhour, its just not easy to head OUT of downtown. 2 years of living downtown has shown me that. I have attended a few Mazda meets, including a nice RX7 club one on a thursday night at around 7, and no one complained about the traffic. I would want to set up a meet where many would come though, so I will bow to popular opinion. I have been to many car shows since I got the car, and have only had one brother parked next to me. Must not only be the traffic.

Commute from just off LaVista (ITP) to North Druid Hills/85 - about 5 miles. Short commute kills my mileage - getting about 14. Still better than the 50-60 minute Lawrenceville to North Druid Hills trip like I used to do...

I got my Red RX8 (red/black leather int) in Nov 2003, but I live in Jonesboro, so I haven't seen ANYONE! I frequent the board and would love to ride around the ATL. I work out of town (below Newnan) which is probably why you haven't seen me. I'll be the one with the chrome snyper wheels and should get more playing time once school is out. (I teach)

Take Exit 111, Left onto L'ville/Suwanee Rd (i think that's the name) Go about 3 miles till you cross the tracks and look for Brogden Rd immediately after the tracks on the right...go down Brogden until you reach Brogden Exchange on the left (about 1.5) and Boost Solutions is on the corner...You should see the Red EVO, i'm sure it's still there...maybe i'll see you guys up there...

I'm leaving West Point in a bit and heading up that way...I'll be up there around 14:00 today and noon tomorrow...

I have a blue one. Live in Acworth and work in Kennesaw. Have seen a black and red one arround here, but only once each. Wish they would have flashed their lights or waved.

LOVE MY 8. Had it since New Years Eve. Had fun giving the sales man a REAL test drive.

Yesterday (about 7:15am) was the first time that I saw another 8 on the road - from Thanksgiving to now! They were on Hwy 85 heading north in Fayetteville. I was going south in my Velocity Red.

Wow! So many 8 owners in the area, yet I've only seen a few on the roads.

I picked up my Silver Touring/Appearance/Spoiler/6Spd on 4/15 at Roswell Mazda. I had a great experience there by the way.

I live in the Vinings area and cover pretty much all of North Atlanta. I saw a very pretty young lady driving a Silver 8 on Delk last night (4/22) and she was the first to wave! Thanks for the acknowledgement whoever you were!

Hey guys, I've seen a black RX8 near dekalb county jail. Anybody know if that was somebody from here? Looked pretty good i must say. This happened about 2 weeks ago.

I just purchased a Winning Blue 8 (6sp-Touring-Apearance-Accent) from Mazda of Roswell on April 30th, 2004. It was a wonderful sales experience, and my second time dealing with Justin (I bought Protege5 with him ~2 years ago).

Since owning my 8, I have only seen one other one on the road. It was a red 8 travelling on Mt. Vernon Rd. in Sandy Spings on Saturday aound 8:30 p.m. I gave a thumbs up out of the window, but the driver did not respond.

We live in the Lilburn area and we've had ours since early July. I've seen about 5-6 others around the Atlanta metro area in that time. Ours is a titantium gray with the sport package. We.ve been using Stone Mountain Mazda and have been very impressed with their service so far.

Hey ya'll I'm up here in Dalton. Not many 8's here at all three that I have just heard of and 1 black one that I have seen. Give me a buzz when ya'll get together next. Mine is the only lightning yellow I've ever seen, be nice to see another if there is down there.

im in macon. had a red with touring since dec. 6 speed of course. i have added the racing beat cat back and the cz 1.1 unit. im probaly older than most 8 owners . I'm 54 but hey if you like cars it doesnt matter. ANyone ever ride the dragons tale? It would be nice to get a group together.

Hey guys, I've probably seen all of you on the road at one time or another and you all look good. So good that I officially stepped into the lion's den today at Lilburn Mazda and started working some numbers. Tomorrow I'm heading to Roswell (due to the healthy feedback) and Chamblee Mazda. Unfortunately Rick Case doesn't have the color I want so that's outta the question as of now. But i'm set on making the purchase but it's up to who has what on their lot so soon to the satrt of the 05' line. Please, if you have any feedback about your sales experience, (i.e. prices) I would truly value it because you have all worked with these actual dealerships. What color did you get?

I don't visit this site much - I bought my Sunlight Silver with GT package in December '03. Had the dealer add the rear spoiler. I added a spare tire kit in May :). Haven't seen a lot of 8s on the road myself - another guy at work has a Titanium Gray and there's another one I see near Clairmont and Briarcliff a fair bit...

The RX-7 gang in town is great, they meet with varying regularity - and 8s are always welcome!

It's been an interesting day. For starters, I would like to say hey to the fellow titanium 8'er here in Buford that I see parked outside the eye dr.'s office. I guess he/she works there. Just to let you know, now there's a new guy in town. I just got my titanium 6spd GT today and this town aint big enough for the both of us. jk, but say hey if you get this, I live 2 mins down the road. Also, to the fully loaded titanuim I saw today (right after I picked up mine) traveling southbound on 85 somewhere between Newnan and LaGrange, I flashed at you out of kinship, but was surprisingly snubbed. Yours had all the appearance package mods but the one thing I noticed was the CD hanging from the rear view mirror. See y'all on the road.

What's up GA, Just got my 8 last week, living in Conyers Sunlight Silver, but you will see me shooting back in forth to Warren Robins Daily (lot of miles but i love driving it). To The Red 8 in WR i will be looking for ya. AS for all you other Rx-8 Owner in the Atl, Decab, Rockdale, Lithonia, etc area we have got to get together and represent somewhere. I have seen as of today 3 Rx8's on the road in the last 5 months. Let me know i am down to show up just about anywhere!!! has to be on the weekends duty calls.

I just picked up my baby - a Titanium 6 speed with black chaparrel leather. I can't wait to break it in and visit 9000 RPM and hear the shift indicator beep at me. I live in Powder Springs. I also look forward to adding some mods to the car over time. I would like to hear about anything you did to your cars and what your impressions are. Also interested if anyone belongs to a club that does track events like at Road Atlanta or Barber.

I have been seeing more on the road lately, especially the last couple months. Got my Nordic Green July '03 and by Feb. had over 18k on it, so broke down and bought a xB for the commute and gas mileage. Love the xB. I'm saving my RX-8 but miss it.
As for getting together with other RX-8 owners, the local RX-7 and Miata clubs are always extending an invite and happy to see us show up at their events.

All you Atlanta RX8-ers... Where do you get your service done? My wife had an old MPV I used to take to Mazcare in Marietta. They were very knowledgable and seemed to be into racing RX7s. I'll probably use them for any non-warrantee work unless anyone has other good recommendations.

Additionally, anyone know what the deal is on what oil to use in the 8? I saw some posts on Trust and HKS oil. What about Mobil 1 or similar?

Well, I answered myself. I am definately going to let Mazcare take care of my car. They are enthusiasts and the owner even has an RX8. I spoke to him for a while today on the phone and he was very willing to chat about the car. Good stuff. I can't wait to get past the break in period. Maybe I'll drive around I-285 a few times a day...

Holy Moly! That is right near my house. But, mine is Red and I don't race - for this very reason. I have seen a Silver on I85 a couple times.

I just got my 8 last week (Titanium Grey w/ rear spoiler, in case you see me on the road in the Smyrna/Marietta area). Look forward to seeing you others on the road!

Hi Folks. I've had my RX-8 for a few months. It is Lightning Yellow, 6 sp M/T, GT package, Rear spoiler. Truly a great car! Just yesterday, I saw a new Titanium RX-8 sitting in my neighborhood. I stopped to chat with the owner, and it turned out to be Nabil.

Welcome to the forum! The track day at Road Atlanta is really open to everyone. It would be cool to get some RX8s on the track though. To get more details about the upcoming trackday look at the thread further down in this part of the forum. There is info on how to check out the website for the details. The price is $225 for Saturday and there is a whole weekend option as well. If it is your first time, you have to drive in group C which is lead/follow so chances are you won't get a chance to drive your car close to its potential. I figure that I have to start somewhere...

If we send in 6 or more registrations at the same time, we can get a 10% discount. That means if you decided that you want in, you would have to print out a registration form, get a check or money order or your CC number and get the form to me. I don't mind collecting the forms and sending them in. I want to get mine in the mail by the end of next week. So, y'all reply back and tell me what you want to do. I am going regardless of the discount barring any catastrophe.

yep sure did. Tuesday, July 19 headed from Hamilton Place Mall to connector 3 in Dalton. I never said that it was a smart thing to do, but I have to say it was fun :D . I'm preety sure it wont go much faster. It was in sixth gear at 8900ish RMPs (maybe more since I was trying to look at the road and holding on tight.). Dont know but it would be fun to take it to the track. What's the deal with the first time running a track thing?

Any of you Atlanta or nearby folks not attending the track thingy, Robins AFB is having it's annual Wings and Wheels car show at the Aviation Museum on the 9th. $20 individual cars and I think $75 for clubs to enter and they are giving out $50 prizes every 15 minutes and other stuff like a poker run etc...if interested PM me and I'll e-mail the info files to you. BTW it's free if you want to just look around!

FYI...The top end on the 8 unless your going downhill or have a nice wind on your back is around 148-154..I myself have hit 152 and that's as fast as it will go ...plenty of RPM's left but the 6th gear is to tall to push it past the wind...so...your claim is rather interesting...oh yeh..and that was on a TRACK, not the interstate...please stop that...you're an endangerment and that does not hold up well in this forum...

Tuesday, July 19 headed from Hamilton Place Mall to connector 3 in Dalton. Oh my! That is one of the worst areas to speed! FYI from traveling through there almost every day:
You've got cops crawling all around the new 75/153 interchange, then sit median 2 miles down the road at the 75/24 split, and then GA. looooves to catch TN drivers coming over the border, 1 mile after the 75/24 split.
You should count your blessings :) I haven't been as lucky :D LOL

If you're going to get frisky.. Ft. Oglethorpe to Ringgold is desolate ALWAYS. But I wouldn't suggest going THAT fast due to the apparent dangers :)

chill man it was at 2:15ish in the morning. Nobody but me for a ways. Plus I just hit 157 then slowed to about 80ish. Not endangering anyone but myself. Wouldn't even think about going nearly that fast with other cars around. I agree though it is usually a terrible speed trap. The cops are mostly around near the bridges though. All I can say about my claim is that's the number it registered. Mazda says that it's max is 150+ so I believe it. That was when I just had my exhaust too. oh well.
