My wife took the kids to see the new Pixar movie "Up" today, and I had a rare thing happen. I had time to wash and detail the RX8 inside and out. After so much work, I just had to take the new wash job for a drive. Every wash job deserves a road test right?

I picked my favorite streach of windy road (a really hard thing to find in Houston) and enjoyed the drive. I had my Ipod on random, and just before some of the best twisties in Houston (Allen Parkway) my Ipod decided to play Red Barchetta from Rush. It was instant Karma.

I had so much fun the first pass through, I did a U-turn and repeated the song and the drive a few more times.

When the right time, right song, and the right road come together it is a good thing.

Great song, I love Rush. Every now and then I get a song going on the Ipod while I'm driving that makes me want to keep going for hours. Some are La Villa Stangiato or Tom Sawyer (Rush), Run Like Hell (Pink Floyd), Pretty Woman (Roy or Halen), Crazy Train (Ozzy), Sweating Bullets (Megadeth), Head hunter or Eat the rich (Krokus), Snow white queen (Evanescence) and many others (some no one here would probably not expect).

Nothing binds me to the car and road as well as a fitting tune for the driving ahead. It puts you in the mood and frame of mind so you can truely enjoy it...leave passengers at the bus stop please...

Good story... I can definitely empathize, but WTF is a "Yatch"? Is that like the second syllable of "B-Yatch" or did you mean "Yacht", as in large boat? LandYacht? I realize this is coming from the person with "YaX" in his name. Just curious.

I looked up "Allen Parkway" on Google maps... that's a "twisties run" in Houston? Damn dude. You need to come up to Austin. It's not quite coastal California, but we have our share of freakish twisties to assault in the Hill Country with nice views.
