Uzi is a SMG (small machine gun) chambered for either the 9 X 19 (9mm Parabellum) or .45 ACP round. Uzis are widely available for civilian purchase in a semi-auto version. Several different countries have licensed the Uzi design from IMI in Israel. These countries include China (Norinco), Belgium (FN), U.S.A. (Group Industries), Cuba, and France. The Israeli IMI and Belgian FN Uzis are widely thought be of better quality and construction than the other variants.
There are three different variants of the Uzi available. These are the carbine, the mini-carbine, and the pistol. The Uzi carbine is the largest and heaviest (8.6 pounds) of the Uzi design, and it utilizes a 16" barrel with an under-folding stock. Overall length with stock rectracted 24.4 inches.
The Uzi mini-carbine is a little lighter in weight (7.4 pounds), and it utilizes a 19" barrel with a side-folding stock. The Uzi mini-carb ine is a more compact design than the full sized Uzi carbine. Overall length with stock rectracted 26.1 inches.
The Uzi pistol is much lighter (4 pounds)and smaller than the other two variants, and it has a 4 1/2" barrel with no stock. Overall length 9.45 inches.
The Uzi pistol has long been a favorite sidearm of Israeli organizations such as the Mossad (Israeli Intelligence), as well as U.S. organizations such as the C.I.A. and F.B.I. The larger Uzi carbines have seen many years of service in the Israeli military as well.
The U.S. legal civilian versions of the Uzi are the carbine types, and they have a non-folding wooden shoulder stock attached. All civilian versions are semi-automatic. There are various magazines available for these weapons, ranging from 20, 25, 30, and 32 round mags for the 9mm to 10 and 16 round magazines for the .45 ACP version of the gun. Although several countries have manufactured magazines for the Uzi, the IMI manufactured magazines are widely thought to be the best. The Uzi is a robust and well constructed weapon. It has no real utility in the "sporting" or hunting arena, however it is a fun and reasonably accurate firearm to target shoot and "plink" with. The Uzi is a decent home defense weapon as well. The Uzi carbines are accurate enough to be used as "varmint guns" at short distances, however the 9mm or .45 ACP pistol round is a bit underpowered for this type of usage. The bottom line is that the Uzi was designed to put alot of lead into a small area very quickly in full-auto mode.

This fits the description of mine.

I do know mine says
Made in Israel stamped right on the side of it.

I don't care what toys you have, if used wisely, they are nothing more than adult fireworks.

What is disturbing were your quotes in other threads about deliberately antagonizing other drivers and pulling off the road with you 9mm ready for a shootout, and you post about killing your co-workers if you were fired (going postal).

I'm sure you were just kidding though ....

If I have you mixed up with someone else, I apologize in advance.

The reason I'm writing this is because UZI's suck, they are for people who cannot aim. Reason's I can say suck things is I know about guns.

In Tennessee you can have a license to carry a concealed weapon, I have one, my dad is a gun fanatic and has a cannon and about 400 guns, he made me get the permit, he also gave me a .357 Magnum made by Rugar which is a stopping gun, I rarely carry it, however when I do, It will always be a suprise, I'm highly accurate, used to have to shoot all the time so I grew bored. My dad is one of the top 50 marksmen in this country, he has been quoted on the Wallstreet Journal cover in regards to firearms. So lets say I know a little about guns, you can get the Uzi Fully auto and other fully auto guns in the USA they just cost a lot more to get registered, my point was I know about guns, and the Uzi he has is the SMG, with Israel stamped on the stock, he also has a Steryl Aug or "the Aug" fully auto, fully legal in the USA, (not a hunting weapon though). But the Uzi's suck, they are for people with poor aim, there are guns that use smaller bullets (like a 5.4 mm)that rotate as they go through you that can cause much more damage. Some semi auto weapons were banned in 1994, however, they Fully auto weapons have been regulated since '34, and can still be bought legally, so, if you are looking for a weapon that is a good home protector, and you are a bad shot, get an Uzi or possibly a shotgun, but if you are confident with your skills, try a .44 Mag, or Colt .45

Listen, buddy, when you own a gun, you had better take that responsibility seriously. It ain't something to f#ck around with. When a gun goes off in the wrong direction, because someone did not take their responsibility seriously, people die.

Talk to that dumb-a## ex basketball player who killed the limo driver, see how he feels.

Watch the "Sixth Sense" and picture that kid with the hole in his head as your own (or you).

I deal with life and death every day, the REAL kind, and I wish I never had to see another person shot accidentally.

You may be a very careful, responsible gun owner who just likes a good joke and just isn't very funny (sort of like me). Or you may be an irresponsible careless jerk who is going to be on the news soon (and not in a good way). Just be careful man.

BTW, my favorite home protector is a S+W pump 12 gauge with a police barrel and pistol grip. Locked in the safe, since I have kids. If anyone is going to try to break in, please give me a minute to find my key and load it please.....;)

well if you want to get alot of rounds down range fast without your gun jamming on you at the wrong moment the uzi and mac-10/mac-11 variants are a good choice.

other ways of getting alot of lead down range fast-

Amen brother, I am with you 100%....including the safe! BTW, my home protector is a S&W semi auto 12 gauge...limited to hold only 3 shells, due to NJ gun laws.

Of course my .44 blackhawk mag is a pretty good deterent to home invasion, but like you said, have to remeber the dam safe combo!!!

If it has a plug, you can remove it for five shells, but three should do the trick. I have brandished mine at some thugs, and just chambering a round did the trick (chick-CHICK)! That's why I like the pump.

I like my Baretta Model 96 stainless. It has the nice .40 S&W rounds and it looks big for a pistol. Haven't had it jam yet and for defense rounds I use the Federal Hydra Shocks. According to guns and Ammo they have a 97-98% 1 hit stopping power anywhere in the torso. During the day when I don't have it with me it is in the safe. At night it is close by (no kids yet).

Yeah, the .40 packs a lot of punch. I guess I'm just partial to the .45 ACP.

I actually have a few boxes of Black Talons, but they're old and I just keep them around but don't shoot them. I like the Hydra Shocks and they are my regular load, but I've always had good luck with Corbon as well.

I had some Corbon +p's in my old Baretta Model 92 but found that the grain count was different between ammunition in the same box. Also noticed a lot of muzzle flash. I used to really like them before I started shooting the Hydra Shocks. I really love the consistency and control I get with the Federal ammunition.
