Well, I just found out I have a warrant for my arrest. I am going to the police station to post bail. I had a court date in Oct but I couldn't make it since I was in school in Fl. Before I left I made the prosecutor aware of this, And he said they will schedule it when I arrive in NJ. Of coarse NJ court system sucks and they issued a warrant for my arrest for not showing up to court.


Now the ticket that I have was for a missing front plate (My fault) And following to close (I was lost so I was following my friend and in NJ people will cut right in front you, so I had to get close enough so nobody would get in front me. When the cop gave me a ticket he called a punk kid.( IM going to use this against him) Harassment

I would think you need to have a word with that prosecutor too, since he told you he would get it scheduled correctly.

The first lesson here is get important stuff (like the rescheduled court appearance) in writing. Hopefully you'll be able to get everything straightened out with the judge. Bring some evidence of your student status and registration, including dates to substantiate and validate your absence.

Second lesson is don't follow too close. I understand your situation but it doesn't make tailgating any safer. If you're following someone's lead through an unfamiliar area hopefully they will have the sense to slow down or wait if you get separated by traffic or signals. Doesn't hurt to make this clear before you begin. One or two vehicles in between won't get you permanently separated as long as you both keep tabs on each other and drive patiently.

Third, do NOT give any appearance of being a "punk kid", especially if you intend on mentioning the officer's behavior to the judge. This means you need to present yourself and your case in a mature and dignified manner, even if things appear to be going against you. Good luck!
