ok

I woke up this morning early, finished up the powerpoint for today's important meeting. I put my laptop in my backpack, went outside, left my backpack in my car and came back home. It was about 6 am. Had breakfast, took shower, and left house at 8 pm!!!

I could found out that someone broke my driver side rear window and took my backpack... omg... It was raining also, my whole rear seat are wet.

I called the police and insurance. But police is not coming. This is my second time. Last year in June they broke same window and took my navigation... And today it was my freaking laptop. I know my few neighbors had same incidents. Are cops around here just for tickets? Lazy asses

Question: What should I do for broken glass pieces and water damaged rear seat? Can I brining it to detailer after installing rear window? Would they do something for me?

Use the broken glass along with a booby trap to be karma for the MoFo's next time they break in. Can you say glass shrapnel bomb?

A detailer would clean out and dry out the seats to keep mold from growing.
They did that for me awhille ago. Glass is easy drying it out could take some time. They made it smell good too!!!

Now I don't know was up with the police however.
They should have come out to make a report.... Sad.

Police not coming out? "Well, we're a little busy here pulling people over for speeding."

That's a little intense. I guess this goes to show don't give ANYBODY the benefit of the doubt with something important. If someone can take it, they will.

Yeah, I go with this philosophy... And even if it ISN'T important, someone will probably be bored enough to take it anyways =\

*sobs* No, I live in a pretty good block where I don't have to worry about my car (and I garage it anways). But move about 1 block in ANY direction, and you got people who scratch, take pieces and badges, cut tires, etc. I've learned to be pretty cautious with my car away from my place =p

THat's why i try not to leave anything in my car. If someone were to try and steal something, i think they would be disappointed to find nothing cept for spare change, haha. Sucks tho about the police. Just adds to my knowledge on how helpful they can be....

Sorry to hear. I never leave anything visible in the car that would remotely tempt thieves.

You should think about getting the glass breakage sensor for the car.

Do not leave anything in your car. Ever. Period. Not even for a second.

It costs a thief nothing to break your window. If there is a penny left on your seat, a thief gets 100% profit on breaking your window to steal that penny.

As you've discovered the cops don't give a damn about car break in's because you have insurance for things like that.

It took my car being broken into twice to learn this lesson and now I never leave anything visible inside the car. I don't even like putting things in the trunk when I get to a place. (thieves could be circling the lot watching for people putting stuff in their trunks.)

Look at it this way though. I read about someone who had 6-8 thousand dollars worth of camera gear get stolen out of his car just the other day. You could be out a lot more money then you are.

Last Wednesday night my passenger window got busted, radar detector stolen. Broken glass made lots of deep scratches in my door too. Fucking radar detector was about 4 years old, speaker barely worked and it was a low-end Cobra. I'm sure a pawn shop probably gave him $5 after smashing a $195 window.. This type of shit makes me want to shoot people.

And I always thought "They'd never publicly smash a window just to steal a crummy radar detector". BZZZT Wrong dumbass!

So glad that it seems people in colorado springs (and even so far in denver) don't do shit like this as frequently.. but im sure it happens everywhere

Sorry to hear that man. Sounds like you have someone maybe watching when you put crap in your car to jack it. I never leave anything in the car, and I live in a nice area. When getting ready to go to work I carry my laptop out with me. I also have tinted windows(5% rear and 30% front). Not to beat a dead horse, but you should have learned the first time you got jacked.

I suggest security tint. It's like a regular tint film except it's HIGHLY resistant to break-ins. If they smash your window it will remain in one piece they'll have to cut through the remains.

Haha, I got it now.. I'm used to the definition for Jin being person, hence I am a Person.

Never really gotten the comment on Jin = Gold before. To clarify, my name is Jing, but I opt out for Jin to everyone since it's easier to tell people.

On-topic: That security tint looks like a pretty good solution to both the broken glass and the breaking in.. time to check if I can get it around me since I want to do tinting anyways.

Nice vid....
I'll look more into that.

But to show you how crooks are, I had a Rodeo in 2002 and I had to park it on the street one night [ONE NIGHT!!!] so I leave the doors unlocked [UNLOCKED!!!] and remove everything [EVERYTHING!!!].
The bast#rds still used a brick on the driver's side window and I guess just to feel like they got something they took my cigarette lighter thing.

What the hell can anyone do with a cigarette lighter thingy?

Freaking crooks.
I hate 'em.

Sometimes they do that just out of spite... they break in, find nothing, take some random shit just for shits and giggles =\

Wow, the internet has almost no information about that security film. Nobody has it, and nobody sells it except for a tiny few of their distributors.. Cost??? I'm also concerned about being trapped in the car should it roll over 15 times. That guy in the video was kicking the window and it stayed put. Might not be so awesome if the car was on fire.

I still want it though so if anybody finds info please post.
