I want to know the 1/4 mile time
if you can get the back end hooked up, i dont know why 11s arent possible. with the heavy v8, this thing still weighs >2500lbs.

There has been the Monster Miata conversion (w/Ford 5.0 HO) for 10 yrs. This would be the ultimate sleeper street racer.

The down cones on the course are directional markers.

These guys have made that kit for a while. http://racingconcepts.net/index.html There is also a monster miata kit for the first gen that has been more publicized.
It will get expensive though. the kit is 3500 + car + engine/trans.
Also, check out Hinson Supercars they make a kit to drop a Vette engine into a FD RX7.

Flyin' Miata has been doing these conversions for a while. They document a lot of it on their website. They're doing a 500 hp build right now.
