I just wanted to report to everyone that RX Tuner Magazine is still set for a Jan 04 release. I received the first mock of the magazine from Brian, our Director, and it's looking good! It's still not to late to subscribe and receive the January issue. But by the end of the week this week I would estimate, that if you wait your subscripton will start with the Feb 04 issue.

i cant subscribe, $22 not for me, how much would i cost at groceries, and will it be at Publix? (top miami groceries store)

I'm not in charge on the printing and mailing, that would be Brian. But the mag is done except for final proofing, and it'll go to press 1/13 ... printed and shipped by 1/16 or 1/19.

So no matter how sceptical you are, you'll get the first issue. It's done ... it looks fantastic! Brian is amazing at what he does. The first issue may be short, 24 - 32 pages, but it'll look and feel damn good.

Keep the support going. Even the most sceptical say you loose on the first issue. Well we didn't, we're in fact in the black for the first issue. So I'd say that puts us WAY ahead in the game. No Mazda support, just support from the Grassroots guys like every each and every one of you. Pat yourself on the back, the people that stepped up made this possible!

I'm almost teary eyed at what is about to be accomplished. #1 is done, #2 is the beginning of a roll ... and we're on it. Jump on and subscribe. This mage is going to be here as long as the rotary is alive!!!

Yeah, I was kind of curious about this myself. I placed my order wed.(14 Jan) evening and haven't been charged yet. I hope I met the deadline for the first issue too....

Has anyone seen if their card has been charged yet or not?? I ordered 13 Jan. and have been expecting some sort of confirmation.... I was under the assumption that we would be charged when shipped. If it was shipped the 26th, I should have noticed the charge by now. Maybe it screwed up when I subscribed. I would hate to attempt to subscribe again and get charged twice.

If anyone who is charge of this magazine has any info please make an attempt to remedy your customers concerns!

I had I confirmation email from Ryan S. back in Jan 9. I haven't receive my card statement from last month, I wouldn't know if they have charged me. So the magazine was shipped the 26, I guess just have to wait.

I noticed that the mag shipped rather late, so I'm wondering if it's possible for me to stop at my local news stand (or rather local Massive corperate conglomerate like Barns & Nobles or Borders) and snag a first issue? I'm subscribing now, but I'd still like to get my hands on a january issue of the mag and see what's in it.

So in short: Is there any way to get a first issue?

Got my mag yesterday. The Canzoomer article was really good. I want to work for him. I spent a little more time in the bathroom reading yesterday then normal.

This was pointed out already and Ryan said it was a typo regarding the hp gain. The ecu mod referred to on the cover is the cz stage 1 mod.

yeah thats what i thought what a heart breaking mistake .imagine guys upgrade your ecu and get 50 =HP i think we we all jump for joy!! who knows maybe it will come some day to get this car to the 270 hp range

Thank you! I'm glad they are starting to drop all over the country. The emails regarding delivery date have dropped from 30-40 a day last week to one or two now. :D I've also been trying to handle customer service between the forums (7&8) and make sure everyone gets a reply.

Next issue is going to have a lot of great content and we "should" be up at 32 pages! We'll keep building the book and fine-tuning the operation as we go along. Thanks for all of your support!

BTW, on the way to and from a meetin last night I rolled up on two 8s. They both recognized the 7 and gave me a thumbs up. I had a quick chat with the latter 8 and he should be signing up here shortly. Also ran into 2 other 7s last night. A bumper night for rotary.

Welp, I received my "magazine" last night. Personally I hope this improves drastically over time. My suggestions:

Call it a fanzine. I have never purchased a magazine that was all of 24 pages. Especially when pages 1 and 24 are the covers, 2, 22 and 23 are full page adds and pages 3-4, 9-10, 16 and 18 are half page adds. Thats 30% of the limited space used up in adds and covers.

Although some of the pictures are nice.

Secondly, get more original content. The vast majority of whats in it is basically info that has been posted on the rx8 and rx7 forums. I dont see why I am paying 20 bucks to read what I already know from the same sources. I know not everyone is on the forums, but especially this first issue, the word was spread on the forums so all the first run customers are going to be familiar with the material being presented.

I understand this is a brand new rag and it's all gotta start somewhere, but I would have tried to make the first issue more valuable to the group of people making it possible, rather than rehashing stuff. For example, rather than Maurices story on how the stage1 came to be, I would have done a RX-8 tuning guide from what they learned.

Anyway, thats my take on it. I hope it gets more substantial, because if it continues as is, I wont be a reader for very long.

As far as the car thing goes, I can put together articles from a "newbie" perspective.

Anyways, I will contribute if I can. I just dont know what I could contribute.

There was an ad placed in the magazine for the RX8.com site. It is not our site. We were offered s topic line on this site as well (I believe all vendors were offered this).

Mazdasport is not about competing with anyone. ... it has taken a lot of work for us in these last 15 years to build a magazine and survive that's for sure.

Let's hope that now there are two magazines for Mazdas that they both do well.

Since PM's arent getting me a response about this, lets see if reviving an old thread will. I have been charged for the magazine subscription AGAIN. This is teh second time and so far I have seen 1 rather anemic issue and NONE OTHER. If nobody bothers to reply to my PM or emails I am going to have to dispute the charge with my CC and that will cause you guys a lot of trouble from what I understand. I was unhappy with the first magazine issue and I am now pissed off at being charged for it again and after 3 weeks of PM's and emails to fix it I get no respose. It's June 13. You have 1 more week to fix your mistake before I dispute the charge.

Well, not to hijack your attempt to seek restitution, but along the same lines ... I too have had no response from Ryan (BOOSTD 7) Scott regarding inquiries about advertising on the site. Interestingly enough, I have heard from acquaintances that the RX Tuner Magazine is not doing well, that Ryan is a poor communicator (definitely exidence of that), and the magazine employees are not getting paid and some have left. I don't know if it is true or not, however, I do know when common business courtesy is absent ... and it is definitely absent here.

Perhaps Mr. Scott should consider a couple of short courses in Customer Relationship Management and Communication. Clearly his focus is aimed elsewhere.

The only thing worse than a gatekeeper is a gatekeeper that's never at the gate. Think I'll spend my paultry advertising dollars somewhere else...and buy a subscription to MAZDASPORT.

Are you guys sending emails to support@rxtuner.com and advertising@rxtuner.com? I requested a change in my mailing address a few weeks ago, and got an almost instant response. And no, it's not because I'm a mod, they don't have any way of knowing who I am in rl. They are also extremely busy working on the next issue right now.

I've sent multiple emails to all the rxtuner addy's that got posted here when the mag was first being promoed, as well as sending to the email account that notified me of payment the first time. This was almost 2 weeks ago and nothing. PM on the board as well has never even been viewed.

Oh geez ... Ben has obviously been mouthing off to you hasn't he. The mag is doing fantastic, why else would I have quit my $75K/year job to do this full-time? Slow response has been due in past to Brian being the only full-timer, now there are two of us. And nobody has 'left' the magazine. The ones who were are part and are no longer, were asked to leave. Other things are not to be discussed in public ...

MazdaSport is a fine publication too, anyone who wants more than just rotary coverage should subscribe. But people who only want rotary coverage won't find much there.

Guys i like your magazine but could you guys start testing pruducts that are out there for the rx8 make comparisons which one works better ,dynos # and ect.
