I've been waiting along time for GT5. But the game to really be waiting for is Forza 3 for Xbox which comes out late summer. The thing with PS3's race games are that they are great games to play 'offline' but Sony's 'free' online gaming is absolutely terrible. I had Formula 1 and always had huge latency issues with the other cars that made it impossible to race. I know it's not just me either because other friends of mine have the same problem. When the same friends race on Xbox live there's rarely a glitch. That's why Sony's online gaming is free. Forza Motorsports 3 will be so massive that it's going to have to be on 2 discs. With 500 cars and 100 tracks, nothing, not even GT5 will come close. Plus, Microsoft's controllers are so much more comfortable than Sony's when doing lots of racing.

This is where it's at...not much of a game built in, but the racing is second to none.

F1 runs great ot me, as long the person hosting the game (peer to peer) has good online connection. even when i play on xbl like gears of war 2 i lag like crazy, due to the person hosting the game. Forza 2 is the same, i may get a good connections and i may not, due o the person hosting it. GT5 Pro runs great online due to servers being runned by the gamecompany.

XBL is a lag fest due to peer to peer gaming. why is it that i can play 32vs32 on killzone 2 wth out lagging? its because the game company who makes the game host our games. now if its peer to peer then its not because of sony, its because of the person hosting the game. just like xbl.

and you've tried sport and or race suspension on the RX-8's and played around with different supspension settings, right? and couldn't get a more similar to feel to your real car? i have C, B, A & S-class RX-8's some with the renesis and some with 20B's in them. i'm pretty happy with my 3-rotor A-class car i built. run's low 2:11's or better at road america and is still easy to drive, good enough for 7560 rank on the scoreboard. not bad i guess.

I could never get the correct suspension settings on my damned S/C'd 8 :banghead:

I was never satisfied with the rebound rate, spring rate or the ride stiffness (sways) - My NA drift 8 was fine and my 20b was ok, but iono wtf was up with my SC 8.

Depending on how old your is, it still may be under warranty. Microsoft extended the warranty for the red ring problems. Also lots of DIY info on you tube on ways to fix most of the issues.

you're right. handling of an all-stock rx-8, at least with all assists off like i like to drive, is very pro-oversteer and difficult to drive. try leaving the stability control on. i always build the cars up to max out the performance index number of the class i want to race. with c-class rx-8's, most of the upgrading should be with the tires. the forza rear wing is not necessary for 260hp if you have better tires. but b-class and above i almost always use a forza wing to achieve balanced handling and never, never any adjustable front lip. with 2-rotor engines, lightening the car some helps make up for the lack of torque. if i'm running boost, i always turbo-charge and never s/c. hope this helps maybe renew a little interest for the racers out there that maybe haven't played in awhile.

...36th in the world right now in career mode....top 100 in exhibition mode.....:)

My favorite tune is my A-class RX8....20B engine swap, 715 hp on stcok tires.....:) Bring on the big tracks and you'll see the power :)

I am able to split screen my television and we had a PS3 playing GT4 next to an Xox360 playing Forza2. We raced stock rx8 around Laguna Seca (since that was a track both Forza2 and GT4 had), and the lap times were almost identical. There was a difference found in the layout of the tracks on the two different platforms. A bridge which crosses over the course near the finish is on the GT4 version, but not on the Forza 2 version.

We then raced Rx8s around the ring and quickly found that the GT4 version of the track had a small section missing, about 10-15 seconds of the course?

Pretty cool though, playing them at the exact same time and seeing the physics and graphics side by side the entire track.

forza 3 needs to have a 4-rotor engine swap available and wide body kit options so we can really lay it down with more power and extra extra wide tires. that would kill. can that engine not fit into the car in real life? if not, i understand why we can't do that now. i like it to be realistic.

3 rotor is enough IMO.

I take mine against the exotics all the time and walk away on some occations.

yeah, I doubt anyone would waste the time to swap a 4-rotor into an RX8 as the engine is very rare and parts are impossible to come by...ands if you did source one, you would probably put it in an FD.

I've driven the Eclipse GSX, and the Acura RSX.. They handle better than the 8 on Forza.. Doesn't come close in real life imo.

^36th in the world is pretty good in career mode. I would be up there if I did not only race R1 class and U which are my specialties lol. I know you have to have good times in most classes when you are ranked that high. I deleted my account back in march because someone had got my credit card information in which case I should have never put it on the account. I'm "ARTHOP" used to be "bhop". I'm known for tuning R1/U class cars and going kind of really fast, I'm a little OCDish when it comes to tuning for that class and racing lol. I will be on for FM3 but not as soon as it comes out because of work/school. Are you on any teams? You might be able to find me in rooms with few teams like TPR, FM2 etc. I'm sometimes in rooms with "Daveyskills"(england or london I think) or "lecheko"(france/spain?) etc, you should know some of those people since you are ranked that high lol(just kidding).
