Well, obviously, Newton.
While Darwin gave us a starting point for understanding the progress of our DNA, Newton made plastics, space travel, cellular telephones and the X-Box possible.

I'm not convinced that knowing my ancestors were Lemurs is more important to me than "Call of Duty IV".

Theories exist indicating that the experience of the universe by a conscious being is required for that universe to really exist. (i know it doesn't make sense.) So the theory of evolution, in a way, is even bigger than discovering laws of nature. But the laws of nature basically dictate how evolution works...ok it never ends you see...:eyetwitch
