.....post some of their jokes

for me, it's mitch hedberg

"I like an escalator because an escalator can never break, it can only become stairs. There would never be an escalator temporarily out of order sign, only an escalator temporarily stairs. Sorry for the convenience."

"I was walking down the street with my friend and he said, "I hear music", as if there is any other way you can take it in. You're not special, that's how I receive it too. I tried to taste it but it did not work."

ahahahhahhahahahahahahahha!!

R.I.P, Mitch. He was one of my favorites too.

I really loved the Smacky The Frog bit.

warren(silver-roxy-8)

"In England Smoky the Bear is not the forest fire prevention representative. They have Smacky the Frog. It's just like a bear, but it's a frog. I think it's a better system, I think we should adopt it. Because bears can be mean, but frogs are always cool. Never has there been a frog hopping toward me, and I thought 'man, I'd better play dead. Here comes that frog...' You never say here comes that frog in a nervous manner. It's always optimistic. Hey here comes that frog, al-right. Maybe he'll come near me so I can pet him, and stick him in a mayonnaise jar, with a stick and a leaf, to recreate what he's used to. And I'm pretty sure I'd have to punch some holes in the lid, because he's damn sure used to air. Then I can observe him, and he won't be doing much in his 16 ounce world."

'nother good one....

"I was at this casino minding my own business, and this guy came up to me and said, "You're gonna have to move, you're blocking a fire exit." As though if there was a fire, I wasn't gonna run. If you're flammable and have legs, you are never blocking a fire exit."

seinfeld was a good show but i'm not a fan of jerry seinfeld doing standup (and he actually annoyed me during the show). he always looks like he's going to laugh as does jay leno. i like comedians who can do their act with a straight laugh and let the audience decide if it was funny.

Jerry Seinfeld is not funny. His show was good because of excellent writers like Spike Feresten, and a talented cast who worked well together. His routines are sad, pathetic, boring.

"i ordered a chicken sandwich at a restaurant, but i don't think the waitress understood me, because she asked me how i wanted the eggs.. so i tried to answer her anyways, i said "incubated.. then hatched.. then grown.. then beheaded.. then plucked.. then put on a grill.. then put on a bun.. damn, it's gonna take a while.... I have a soft spot for Frank Caliendo because his father was my high school basketball coach and we used to watch tapes of him out on the road playing little clubs before he blew up. But now he's kind of played out, and Frank TV was ... abysmal.

I also really like Brian Regan. A lot of his act is just him making stupid faces, but they're pretty funny. I love his "show horses" bit.

David Cross. He doesn't do a lot anymore now that he's doing more TV and movies but he was the only comedian who made me cry laughing, especially when he goes off on religion. I was sad when Mr. Show got cancelled. That was my all time favorite comedy show other than Tim and Eric but they aren't even in the ballpark of Mr. Show.

I thought "Raw" was mostly a re-hash of "Delirious", which was largely a rip-off of Pryor's themes. On the other hand, I would hate to be a black comedian standing in the shadows of Pryor, too, as he doesn't leave them much room for originality. That's why I like Chappelle and Mencia; they seem to be able to get away with tackling sensitive social issues.

Comedy is a personal taste. I prefer more cerebral humor because the jokes are more difficult to create and takes some serious creativity. The slapstick humor I stay away from because it's too easy and there is more of a chance they are stealing old material. I listen to Raw Dog on Sirius sometimes and I never laugh for that specific reason. I hear people laughing their ass off and I haven't even smirked. I know I'm missing some of the live mannerisms on the radio, but still it's just not funny to me..
