R1Cky 04-29-2009, 01:45 PM well you should let your chain of command know. OH! and DON'T give her a power of attorney!
BrianMP31B 04-29-2009, 03:10 PM DO NOT give her that power of attorney. I've known a couple of guys in my unit that got screwed by that power of attorney. give it to your mom or someone you know isn't gonna screw you. And if things ndon't work out, it wasn't meant to happen
Atilla 04-29-2009, 03:22 PM Keep your head up man - Thank you isn't enough to express the gratitude I feel for any soldiers of this country.
:patriot:
p.s. +1 on giving the power of attorney to some one you know won't screw you. A trusted family member would be best IMO.
dozer 04-29-2009, 03:29 PM thats the exact reason i never talk about marriage...ive been with my GF for 7 years, and NOT once have we talked about marriage...the divorce rate is up at 50% here in america, IMHO the STUPIDEST move one can do now a days...
ps, i salute you
bigireland 04-29-2009, 04:05 PM Soldiers losing their significant others happens a lot during deployments. If she stays with you and is faithful then that's how you know you got a good one. If not, then you get to be single when you come back with mad loot. Not a bad thing.. Try to put at least $1k a month into your SDP. If you can get internet access(talk to the signal guys), bone up on some SkillPort classes. But most importantly, store your car properly. Check my thread below to see what I mean. Good luck and be safe.

myriadshalaks 04-29-2009, 04:47 PM good luck, man. if you think she's going to leave you, she shouldn't be your fiance. marrying won't help.
stay low, and keep your eyes open.
REsuperD 04-29-2009, 04:57 PM be safe and be careful!
delhi 04-29-2009, 05:45 PM Soldiers losing their significant others happens a lot during deployments....
Dude, the guy wrote Finance. Not Fiance(e).
He can always run to Canada and hide for a while. Lots of Vietnam war fellas came to Canada. Dunno. One fella claimed that he didn't agree with the war at a news conference.
dozer 04-29-2009, 05:47 PM blame canada :fruit:
Atilla 04-29-2009, 05:50 PM  @ Delhi
Nice catch
It's cool everybody, he's just losing his Finance...all he needs is a better accountant :)
Razz1 04-29-2009, 07:06 PM Its a very long time to wait. Just stay in contact as much as possible especially live video over the net.
With communciation things will work out.
Tigerfootball 04-29-2009, 07:15 PM Good luck Man! Come back safe! Kind of messed up that your "finance" ;) might leave. i thought with a relationship like that your significant other is supposed to stand beside you in thick and thin, good or bad, name your cliche.
You have my thanks and gratitude for serving our country. God Bless you, Sir.
kersh4w 04-29-2009, 11:12 PM you cant pay bills over the internet
or set them up to automatically be paid from your bank account.

delhi 04-30-2009, 02:09 PM Afghan chicks are pretty hot after you "liberate" them from their Burkhas....
BOOSTD 7 04-30-2009, 02:39 PM First off my man, thanks for what you do for this country ... and I wish you safety while overseas.
Now about worrying over your girl, don't. You're 20, if you stayed and got married there's a 70% chance you'd just end up divorced anyway. So think of this as a good thing, a way to test the strength of your relationship without the risk of a divorce. Do your best while away to write, and not emails ... letters. Tell her how much she means to you, and how anxious you are to get back home. Tell her about all the struggles you're enduring while deployed, and how thinking of her keeps you going.
That's all you can do ... and then if she's there waiting for you when you get home, you know she's a keeper. If not, you're 20! If she leaves you, don't worry about it. There IS a woman out there somewhere - maybe this one - who will stand beside you through anything.
