I got some cool gifts for Christmas, many of them RX-8 related :)

front and rear rotary accents
a "see-through" working rotary engine model (mentioned in another thread on this forum)
a nice tire gauge
a bottle of Laphroaig (awesome single-malt scotch)
a bottle of Disaronno (amaretto)
a gift certificate for two massages at a local yoga/massage clinic
and I just ordered Canzoomer's ECU mod for myself :D

We also just bought ourselves a hot tub, which was delivered & installed Monday. ;)

I got an RX-7 and RX-8 Zip-Zaps- so far, they're great cat torture devices.

And since we're listing all the stuff we got,

I also got a Willow leaf necklace and bracelet I've been begging for, the Alice and Cheshire Cat figurines from American McGee, a cookbook, and a lot of clothes. I'm thinking I made out pretty well so far, and we haven't even made it to the families yet.

Well, since we're all listing our goodies from Santa...

He brought me something see-through, something with a rechargeable battery, and something that fits perfectly in the mouth!

No, not that! They are: the transparent Rotary engine model, a Garmin IQue 3600, and a grill for my Miata.

Now get your minds outta the gutter -- It's CHRISTMAS! :D

I just finished opening up my Xmas gifts. I got some cool "one off" 8 stuff. My fiancée being the "artsy" one, made me a rubix cube with RX-8 pictures. I have no idea on how she did it, but the 6 sides of the cube have different pictures of the 8. It looks SCHWEET. I'll have to post up some pics with my new Fujifilm FinePix digital camera I also got :)

The fiancée also made me up a customer 8 calendar with various pictures I had of the 8, including my own pictures I have of my car. It's pretty cool. Also got a nice big frame to put up my 8 poster that has been lying around here for a while. I'm a happy camper :)

Assuming you were serious about seeing the see-thru model, here's a pic of the completed version -- mine came in lots of little pieces awaiting assembly. You can get one of your own here:

Well, I got a *very* nice bonus from my employer this year. I worked hard for it.

I got cash and more cash... which equates to more and more parts to add to the 8. But I'm going to start slow... still awaiting info on whether Rotaryextreme's Mazadaspeed kit copy is as good as the original. Anyone bought one yet?

Thought this would be an interesting thread.

My wife managed to surprise me again with a DVD burner.

But, the neat gift was a model rotery engine, that actually works!

The engine is clear plastic, and a battery powered motor turns the gears and rotors, the spark plugs light up in time, the stick is the on/off switch! I figure it is an old model, since the engine is not fuel injected, and the ports are not in the new location, but it is still neat!

Anyone get anything out of the ordinary?

And for my 8, one of my friends work got me a hand vac! sweet! I got a car cover (offical one) and those windsheild things to lower the car temperature. plus some 100% cotton towels to wash my baby with!

There's already a thread started on this very topic -- including a picture of the aforementioned rotary engine model:

Since I last posted, I've managed to rack up some more really cool stuff...most notibly two 15th century music manuscripts, one of which is decorated with actual gold leaf. Still need to translate, as they appear to be in latin, but they are quite beautiful. Apparently there ARE benefits to having a relative getting a PhD in Medieval Studies! My mom had an artist create a very pretty calligraphed design of my name and my husband's name. I've also got two more Zip-Zaps, one of which is another 8, a bunch of chicken stuff (book, platter, salt & pepper shakers-my family is weird) and the last place setting of my Wedgwood. Add that to the various kitchen stuff, a beautiful quilt my Grandmother made, and a ton of clothes from my MIL, and I've done very well, I think.

In all my happiness, I forgot to mention I also received a really nice telescope, the RX-8 sunshield and the cargo net.

My sister made me a cool custom T shirt with 6 pictures of my car on the front changed into different colors/effects and then put a bigger pic on the back saying "Crazy about my 8"....one of my favorite gifts. Also, a mazda keychain, digital tire guage and a car vac. Got a lot of great gifts but the best is the 8 sitting in my garage and the winter tires should be here any day now....not a spec of snow on the ground though and it's 50 degrees here in Chicagoland!!! Go figure!!

They are 1/64 scale remote control cars (about the size of matchbox cars), they have the xmen RX-8 and several other body styles, you can mix and match parts.
