What's with all the freaking ricers. We got one guy putting freaking ferrari stickers all over his car, and another guy making a billet grill out of chicken wire on the front bumper? Here are some hints for you people who don't understand what "Rice" is.

1. No Stickers, no it doesn't look better.

2. Don't spray paint any of the shit on the car, period.

3. Don't try to be creative, please, if it's worth putting on the 8, someone else has already come up with it.

4. Lower the car before you buy rims.

5. Don't go to Pepboys to "hook up" your Rizzide, do not buy APC anything.

6. Function over fashion. If it doesn't make the car perform better, it's pointless.

7. OEM stuff is good, Mazdaspeed as well.

8. Do as you please with bodykits, just don't make them yourself.
Feel free to add-on my fellow non-ricers. I'm not posting this just to start shit, I just want to educate the naive, and I hate seeing a wasted 8. Most of you would agree with me when I say the RX-8 is a classy car, please don't ruin that image for the rest of us.

the way I drive my 8- it would be a bad thing to be able to single myself out all riced up! People would know I was the guy who always cuts them off

How about you let people do what they want to THEIR car and you just ignore them, some people don't want to be clones like you and want their car to look a bit different than every other RX-8 on the road.

I never said I wanted everyone's 8 to look the same. Did I say that? You can do whatever you want to the car, as long as you follow the few basic guidelines I listed above. Are you telling me if everyone didn't rice out their car, all the cars would look the same? You lose 2 cool points for trying to start an argument with a general statement.

Wouldn't it be nice to see a thread start with, "Killed a 350Z last night...", or, "stomped all over an S2000". Instead of,"Here are my underbody neons, hope you like them."

Don't worry lightemup, I won't repeatedly post 4-5 times like you did in the post above reiterating the same thing over and over again. There is a difference.

People often mix the two up. Custom painted grill to some people means, painted the grill with the spray praint i found in the garage.

Truthfully, I was mostly agreeing with LightEmUp, that some people take a very nice car and turn it into a circus clown. clearly anybody can do what they want to their car, but anybody could shave their dogs butt and make him walk backwards, it don't mean it's better. Lots of folks have zero taste.

I'm glad brothervoodoo posted that other thread to see where this all came from. I'm still trying to figure out in my mind what is rice and what isn't but those grill mods are way cool. I don't see any pinoys doing that to their car (pinoy = slang for filipino-american homeboys; not derogatory.) So it's not rice. The ones that drive me nuts are the flaky damn spoilers wider than the car with sheet metal corrogated risers, not even body work, just bolted to the trunk. That, plus underbody neons. Might was well paint a mustache on your car to complete the look.

All that said, LightEmUp gave away his entire argument in one post in the other thread when he slipped in "IMHO." And that's the whole point, isn't it? It is his humble opinion, nothing more. No reason for us to get spun up. Dude, you've made your point you can clam up now. Anyone who remains unconvinced ain't gonna be converted by you at this point.

I wholeheartedly agree with LightEmUp. People are taking a classy car and turing them into Civics. That guy putting Ferrari badges on his car was a riot. And I won't even get started about that guy who wanted to put a park bench on his trunk which he called a spoiler.

"rice" is like beauty- in the eye of the beholder. Not for other people to judge. And of all days to post something mean like this...come on!!!!
