I'm somewhat surprised with what's happening to my rx8. Figured I'll share my story.
I have an '05 manual with only 19K miles on it, did all the standard scheduled maintenance and stuff. I've never had any problems with the car (except lost of power last summer but the dealer updated the computer and it was fine again). Yesterday I was going 60mph and shifted to neutral, and it failed to hold at idle and stalled. Took me several tries to restart the car afterward. So in the afternoon I drove the car to the dealer. The 8 was sluggish and I had to turn off the AC to keep it from choking. When I got to the dealer and told the tech what happened, the first thing out of his mouth was "you need a new engine"! :Eyecrazy: I thought he was joking because he hadn't even started the car at that point (nevermind running any diagnostics). Today I got a call from him telling me my car will have a reman engine in it in about a week... I'm pretty happy for the fact that it's under warranty and there's absolutely no hassle in getting my car fixed.
