For some reason if I twist the fog lights switch, they dont turn on. But If I turn on the regular lights, the fog lights turn on as well. I have recently replaced the fog lights fuse and still same problem. I can't seem to get it so that i can only get fog lights.
FYI I have the stock fog lights.

The fog lights only work when the headlights are on. Why do you need the fog lights on without the headlight being on?

Traditionally, to be useful in fog, fog lights are used instead of headlights. They're lower and dimmer, so you don't get light scattering back at you.

That said, some time ago (certainly by the 60s) they found that the back scatter problem was handled by fog lights having a sharp horizontal cutoff. Modern HIDs do that, so they're great in the fog and the fog lights themselves are decoration.

I'd like to be able to turn on the fogs without the heads to use as daytime running lights. One of these days I'll do the mod.

yeah, op, not sure if you've read up on it but your fogs won't turn on independently of the headlights unless you rewire them.

they're def great for drl, i have them on pretty much all the time.

Yeah the mod is easy, only takes a few minutes, best mod you can do for the money. Only involves cutting one wire and tapping into another.

When the seeing is really terrible, forcing slow travel anyway, having fogs-only can give the best result, imho. If you want to go 65mph with only fogs in the dark, then no, it would be dangerous. Govt is trying to prevent the second instance by wiring the fog relay into the headlight circuit. The most popular thread in the DIY forum is the foglight rewire.
