Wow! Bad deal for you and the bear.

There's NO way you'd have seen him... a black bear at night. Man.

Amazing how much damage there was.

Maybe some of our Canadian friends can post "Moose collision" pics. :)

yeah but even if i would've seen it...no way i could've prevented that... he was in the median..it was 11 at night..u'd think he'd see my lights...he must've ran in the road...and that's when i hit him...so he was on all fours i'm guessing..anyways..i'm guessing as soon as he ran in the road...i clipped him with the front end..and by the looks of the car..we can tell he slid the side of my car..there's actual holes in my car..lol looks like he clawed it...and took circular parts of my car with him..lol there was bear hair everywhere on my car *puke*

Here in AUSTRALIA luckily we havent got a bear problem however if you hit one of our KANGAROOS you will certainly know about it , every year there are reported deaths and near deaths due to kangaroos , especially in times of drought they come close to the roads looking for a feed they usually travel fast and in large numbers.

Glad to hear you are ok

Thanks Michael...

here in florida...bears are not a known thing..this happened 3 hours north of where i live anyways..here by ft. lauderdale..u will see no land other than homes..stores...ect... how we breathe is beyond me..lol a lil north u'll find more life *trees ect ect* but even when i had the accident *less than a month ago* the tow truck guy said he's never heard of a bear being hit in florida..or seen..lol the guys at the tow shop said the same thing..and so did my insurance..said it was their first bear accident...state farm is pretty big..lol it's just weird..the cops said they were indangered animals...so it's really rare to see one..:(

i'm a bear killer :(

Maybe someone kept the bear as a pet , or it escaped from a circus we have had sitetings of big cats panther like and they sure as hell dont belong to AUSTRALIAN WILDLIFE, probably escaped into the wild and somehow survived .

I live in a province called Newfoundland and I do believe it has some of the highest population of moose around. From what I've heard over the years, you are lucky to be even alive after a head-on collision with a moose :( . You rarely walk away with just minor cuts and bruises. I think the only thing that can withstand a moose collision is a tank! :D

Glad your ok. Looks like the car did it's job and the cockpit stayed intact very well.

All: Have you seen the pictures of the deer that went through the guys Dodge Durango nearly killing him (just missed him)?
