I've thought, for a long time, that Mazda should have put a rotory in the miata. Think about it, less wieght, higher revs. DOesnt that just cream miata?

nah, mazda should atleast have a non rotary sports car

Somehow I find it hard to believe someone out there hasnt taken a old miata and a old rx7 motor and put them together. I could see trouble with the turbo's but you would figure after all these years someone had to have tried it:-(

Bwob over on www.miataforum.com has said many times that it's just not going to happen any time soon. He's commonly known as the "father of the Miata", and stays in contact with the head of the NC Miata development project.

I agree that it would be a fantastic car, but I've long since given up hope after hearing Bwob shoot the idea down.

A while ago I've seen this done in a magazine.. C&D or R&T. The Miata was white, it had a TurboII rotary engine, about 270hp, depending on boost. It was not an easy swap as far as I remember.. Hard to fit the engine, tranny, driveshaft and rear axles.
