Hello group, I just bought a new RX8 base model 6spd Red.List 27,200 I paid 24,900 plus a 499 dealer fee. I am glad I waited a couple of months and saved 2k. I sold my 99 vette to get the RX8.It drives a lot nicer than the vette but could use a few more hp. Great bang for the buck at 25K. Jeff

I'm happy with my MSRP car for the past 6 months myself :D

Besides, my old car was ready to die. I woulda had to get an in betweener and that woulda been mroe trouble than it was worth for saving a few bucks.

Oh, and down here in SoFla they are still selling for MSRP.

I am glad you are enjoying your RX8. My RX8 is my weekend toy car so I did not have to have it right away.

There must be some dealer incentive money on them now.

Nope, no dealer incentives, and no customer rebates. At least as of press time for the last Automotive News, there weren't any.

Sounds like Topgun did okay for himself. According to Consumer Reports the RX86P with the 6MT trim, basic equipment MSRP's for $27,200. That corresponds to a Dealer Invoice of $25,179 (including the $520 destination charge). Less the estimated dealer holdback of $534 - that leaves $24,645 as their recommended figure for where to begin negotiations (Consumer Reports' Wholesale Price).

I got mine for $2,480 below MSRP, on par with the $2,300 reduction that Topgun is reporting above.

Ford/Mazda also as the "S-Plan" pricing (since July or so), which will shave about 3K off the sticker when I order it.

I just picked up my new RX-8 Last week and used S-Plan. I loaded it up with everything including GT, Appearance, Navigation, 6-Disc Changer, ect... and pre-tax number was $31,995. Sticker was $35,600. I also ordered a Yakama Rack for my wakeboard and bike and Lojack. What a sweet car! You can tell that I had a great Xmas as well! I really enjoy the site and look forward to many visits.

I heard our local dealer, Jim Ellis Atlanta, is offering the'S' plan to everyone until the newyear.Their internet guy's name is Cleveland and the sales manager is Jeff Gardener: both very cool people.

'S Plan" is a pricing program available to employees of Ford, Ford Affiliates (Mazda) and Employees of Suppliers or Customers. The price is usually under the invoice price. In my case I work for Robert Mondavi Corp and we have an exclusive relationship with Ford for our fleet leasing. With that our employees receive special pricing for all Ford, Lincoln, Volvo, Mazda, Rover and Jaguar vehicles. I took advantage of this with my new RX-8. I also have a friend who owns the local Cadillac Mazda Dealership and he was able to accomodate my purchase. As per my friend the price I paid was under the invoice amout but Mazda would kick in some dollars to him on the back end also the vehicle would count toward his monthly goal. My experiece was very smooth and easy I even had the car delivered to my house to test for a couple of days before I made up my mind.

Long winded but I hope that helps. If I missed anything please let me know.

That pretty well covers it, very informative thank you! Wish I had a way to take advantage of a deal like that! :(

I paid sticker, but lucked out in that the dealership I bought mine from had to trade with another to get the color/options I wanted. After they agreed to trade a black no spoiler for a red no spoiler someone at the other dealer put a spoiler on my car, so they ended up eating the cost...I ended up paying $30,129. (No trade or other factors included in this. I paid cash for TTT, sales tax, and "admin fees"). I have anxiety issues :o so for me this was a great deal and much better than the first dealer I went to in Macon, GA who wanted to charge me markup over sticker for a demo with 500 miles :p

If you can still get a base model/low-options 6-spd in the $25k range by the end of next summer, it will be very hard for me to not get one. Have to add in the cost of a fuel map controller like the greddy or canzoomers into the price of the car though :)

Houston = $500 under MSRP last month

You could probably negotiate better than me though, they could see the stars in my eyes....

I love this car more every day! After 3K miles, it just feels better and better. I still get "butterflies" walking towards it. I've had some nice cars before, but never felt this way about any of them!

I feel I got a very good deal on mine, but forgot to add in the cost of putting snow tires on the car. That was about $1500 for extra tires and rims. As so many have noted before me, this is not a car to drive in cold winter weather without 'em.
