I need some schooling here. . .
Planning to remove wheels to paint calipers and rusty parts of rotors, two wheels at a time. Does it matter if I jack-up one side, paint both, then the other side, or must I do both front or rear at the same time?

Depends on the caliper paint. The G2 paint that TireRack sells is an two part paint that only last so long. Also, you are supposed to wait two hours before replaing the tire and 24 hours before driving. So unless you are putting your car up on four jacks, for a day, it might be a little tough. But I’m sure there are paints out there that fdon’t have these issues. So, it depends on what you are using.

In fact the paint is from tire rack. I bought two kits hoping each kit would handle two wheels. My first concern is the rotor rust, calipers will be secondary. Can I leave the car jacked on the drivers side, passenger side wheels on the ground, for 24 hrs without causing undo stress on the wheels and rims?

I’m not an expert at “jacking” a car. Actually, my snow tires were the first time I did mine. So someone else might comment on your stress question but I wouldn’t think it would cause any issue.

For me, I just didn’t like the idea of all fours on jack stands. So I did an axel at a time (rears then front) mixing new paint each axel. Again, it takes two hours before you are “supposed” to put the wheels back on. Did mine on a weekday evening and had plenty of time. These painted calipers were my first. The only thing I wish I had done differently was to buy silver for the “rim”. As it was, I just did the calipers blue. Of course the way I did it would have meant another two paint sets. And for me, I took care of putting tire sensors in my winters while I was letting the paint dry. So I dug out the OEM performance tires/wheels just to put on after the two hour waiting window to support the “8” until the winters were back late the next day.

Just my experience. Check the G2 caliper paint instructions on line (at least I think) for more of these details.

I have the same rust problem on my rotors that you displayed in the photos. I'm just waiting for a dry, above 40 degree day to get started!
