View Full Version : Utah? Jethro Tull 02-26-2009, 05:43 PM So, what restaurant, what time, and are we meeting in a park afterwards, going for a drive, what??? 04rx8gr 02-26-2009, 05:57 PM We should meet out by WJ so I can come :) lol otherwise I cant Drive :( bose 02-26-2009, 06:26 PM Bose, Who do you work for? Do you work on the equipment? I work for CCI, I do Commercial heating and air. I work for LaMonica's Restaurant Equipment Svc. We fix the ovens mostly. The love to break those oven doors. 9 time out of ten when they call I can predict it. I used to fix the stuff now I do the dispatching now. I always hated going out the jobs, customers were asshole, getting burned by 400 degrees fryer grease being dropped on you. Carrying a 100 lbs microwave across a wet kitchen and falling down with the micro on top of me. Fuck that.:icon_no2: bose 02-26-2009, 06:32 PM there are a lot of restaurants out at Jordan Landing. Ruby Tuesdays, Joe's Crab shack, Chili's, Famous Dave's, Iggy's. So maybe one of those on Saturday in the afternoon/evening? Everyone who can come chime in. raleighRX8 02-26-2009, 06:32 PM Damn, that sounds shitty! I have buildings that I take care of, so you get to know the owners, and most of them are pretty cool! rx8snowboard 02-26-2009, 06:53 PM I will take a bottle JT, and I should be able to meet you guys if you give me a time and place (doesn't matter where or when just need to put it into the schedule) . . . rx8snowboard 02-26-2009, 06:57 PM I'm pretty sure that's La Puente your thinking about. I don't care which location we might want to meet at the one on 10600 South and State or 3300 south and 1250 east there we wouldn't be far from Sugarhouse park. I like Saturday around 2 or 3 so I can wash my car. Sunday I will be installing my ignition kit. God I am tempted to put on my summer tires right now. I think I am putting mine on tomorrow because the snow tires are so expensive and I want them to last :uhh: Jethro Tull 02-27-2009, 12:26 AM If you guys want to meet at a place in Sandy or West Jordan, then you'll have to pick it. Got a bottle of premix with your name on it, snowboard. 04rx8gr 02-27-2009, 10:07 AM I think I am putting mine on tomorrow because the snow tires are so expensive and I want them to last :uhh: hmm arnt those supposed to be on when it snows. . . for example like TODAY!!!:banghead::Eyecrazy::lol2::lol::Eyecrazy: bose 02-27-2009, 10:21 AM Fuck snow. I know what you mean snowboard. I don't want to keep driving around on these expensive ass snow tires when there isn't much snow. :dunno::Wconfused Okay I think probably Iggy's out there because they have a huge variety of food, and if you want a beer your in the clear. So let do this Saturday @ 2. How about it? SOLID! CDUBYAZ 02-27-2009, 10:30 AM Damn, that sounds shitty! I have buildings that I take care of, so you get to know the owners, and most of them are pretty cool! RaleighRX8 you guys service one of my buildings actually. It's called Jordan Crossing... are you familiar with it? It is out in Riverton. raleighRX8 02-27-2009, 11:12 AM Okay I think probably Iggy's out there because they have a huge variety of food, and if you want a beer your in the clear. So let do this Saturday @ 2. How about it? SOLID![/quote] Sounds Great! is that in Jordan Landing? CDUB, I have been out there a few times! I will let you know next time, maybe we can grab lunch! bose 02-27-2009, 11:55 AM Yessir, Jordan Landing. 7268 South Plaza Center Drive, is the exact address. That's about 3500 Westish. raleighRX8 02-27-2009, 12:51 PM Cool, see ya there. I will be in the RX8. Oh, wait shit!! 04rx8gr 02-27-2009, 12:57 PM lol I will be on foot!!! I will pm you 04rx8gr 02-27-2009, 02:37 PM Awesome. . Thanks Dave! Ill give ya a call :) rx8snowboard 02-27-2009, 03:41 PM Its in the schedule guys, I will be there at 2... with my snow tires still on... with a broken motor mount... and a broken throw out bering... and I need a new starter motor... shit... I need a vacation lol... Jethro Tull 02-27-2009, 04:18 PM I'll be there at 2:00 myself, provided I don't get called in for some emergency at work. Not out of the realm of possibility. My new case of premix just arrived, sent UPS from Mazdatrix, with invoice and my copy of the charge slip. The total is $69.58, so an increase of $9.71 per case over last year. I can't lay my hands on last year's invoice, so I can't say if some of the increase was due to higher shipping charges. It was $13 to ship this year, with a $1 handling charge. So, here are the numbers: $69.58/case = 5.80/qt. = $1.45/tank @ 8 oz./tank. I use about 6 oz./tank = $1.09/tank. But yes I'll be selling a quart for $6 just because I don't want to pack a bunch of dimes. :D I posted this at the SLC Rotary Website too, in the Lounge. So we should get a few 7 drivers as well. raleighRX8 02-27-2009, 04:32 PM We ARE eating first right? Me likey food!! bose 02-27-2009, 05:49 PM I don't care when we eat, before or after. It just dawned on me, my birthday is tomorrow. I used to get excited but now I just forget. I mean I knew it was coming but hell it snuck up on me. 04rx8gr 02-27-2009, 05:56 PM Ill wonder down :) HAPPY BDAY BOSE!!! ya old fart!!! ;) bose 02-27-2009, 06:24 PM :tear: Sad how the time flies, I still feel like I'm 16. I'm too immature to grow up.:icon_no2: Oh well, thanks 04, I still have many many years left so it's not all bad.:) 04rx8gr 02-27-2009, 06:54 PM lol . . . everyone is old compared to me. . . I cant even drink legally yet :( raleighRX8 02-27-2009, 07:08 PM Legally being the key word, right! Jethro Tull 02-27-2009, 07:33 PM I don't care when we eat, before or after. It just dawned on me, my birthday is tomorrow. I used to get excited but now I just forget. I mean I knew it was coming but hell it snuck up on me. You're still just a pup. Happy birthday! Hell, I think there's only like 2 guys in SLC Rotary older than me. You guys are all still young with the best part of life ahead of you. Just be glad you got in on the tail-end of the internal combustion age, because when you're my age, you'll all be driving efficient, clean, quiet, electric cars. You know, in dog years, I'm dead! We'll get all the waitresses to sing "happy birthday" to him tomorrow at Iggy's. 04rx8gr 02-27-2009, 10:05 PM We'll get all the waitresses to sing "happy birthday" to him tomorrow at Iggy's. Damn straight we will :) raleighRX8 02-27-2009, 10:16 PM How does your car run, seem to run smoother? I am taking mine for the compression test Tuesday! rx8snowboard 02-28-2009, 12:30 AM 04's rx8 drives great lol. clutch is still a little sharp but we will work on that ha ha. Happy b-day bose. I might not be able to stay long tomorrow but I look forward to seeing you all there. Jethro Tull 02-28-2009, 01:43 AM ^That was really nice of you to help him out, snowboard. Jethro Tull 02-28-2009, 07:14 PM Coming home on Bangerter, I was doing about 84, when my spidey sense went off. I dropped down to 67, was cruising just in front of a Suburban doing the same speed, when there is a trooper in a white pickup with his radar gun out the window! He points right at me, and then points to the ground- the message was clear- "slow it down"! Yes, sir! I pulled off on 47th and snuck home on 3600 west. I don't know what it is, maybe I can detect radar with my brain or something. It's happened a few times now. Ill be of age shortly :) 04rx8gr 03-02-2009, 11:12 AM So I did the Fog light fix last night. . . I didnt realize it was so dang easy, took me like two mins. I need to think of a few other little fixs Jethro Tull 03-02-2009, 02:08 PM Anybody who got premix on Saturday and has used it for the first time, let us know if you notice any differences. Might take a full tank before you see anything- if you do. bose 03-02-2009, 02:16 PM What's the foglight fix 04? 04rx8gr 03-02-2009, 02:37 PM Ya know how ur fog lights only turn on when your headlights are on? well thats dumb and defeats the purpose of "FOG" Lights . . So i did a quick relay rewire so that once your parking lights are on you can turn on your fog lights :) . . . if you wanna do it to your car bring it over tonight it will take like two seconds and I got a spare connector for it :) Tim Tim Tim 03-02-2009, 02:47 PM hmm that would be pretty nice.. I have another question. Long story short, when I live in florida I pretty much lost my job, couldnt afford my house and have late payments and am in the process of giving back the deed so my credit is pretty terrible. Any of you guys know any dealerships that do like in house financing or some other way to manage getting another car? haha dont need anything great although we want something half way decent (civic or something most likely although we would really love an xterra or something of that nature) bose 03-02-2009, 03:00 PM I had horrible credit when I went to get my 8 at CarMax, when everyone turned me down before, even the people who said 'We approved anyone, no person turned away." Well I was told I had to shitty of credit for even them. You could try there, also Riverton Hyundai/Suzuki does financing with Cyprus Credit Union and they are pretty good at getting people approved. I would try CarMax first. Hell I still have shitty credit, even though I have paid early on every single payment. Tim Tim Tim 03-02-2009, 03:14 PM thats good to know, I will give them a try then. They have some decent cars there too. I have some to put down and I make more then enough to afford a payment now its just the shit that happened in tampa raleighRX8 03-02-2009, 03:27 PM Another place that does in house financing and have a good per. around here is first class cars. They even give you 0% financing if the payments are made on time! All used cars around here are bought at auction, so they are pretty much the same. 04rx8gr 03-02-2009, 03:30 PM Hey Chewy. . . we goin to do the Fog light fix on ur car yet :) raleighRX8 03-02-2009, 03:30 PM Anybody who got premix on Saturday and has used it for the first time, let us know if you notice any differences. Might take a full tank before you see anything- if you do. My appt. is tomorrow, trying to make sure it runs as shitty as possible!:eyetwitch Chewbacca lives! raleighRX8 03-02-2009, 03:31 PM Hey Chewy. . . we goin to do the Fog light fix on ur car yet :) Yeah, but I have school tonite, I will give you a call if I get out early! 04rx8gr 03-02-2009, 03:32 PM Ight :) Tim Tim Tim 03-02-2009, 03:36 PM Thanks for that one raleigh they have a couple of alright cars. May check them out this weekend or something Jethro Tull 03-02-2009, 03:57 PM Any of you guys know any dealerships that do like in house financing or some other way to manage getting another car? haha dont need anything great although we want something half way decent (civic or something most likely although we would really love an xterra or something of that nature) Menlove in Bountiful used to have a program for people with lousy credit, but I noticed that since they finished their new building, and the economy tanked, they haven't been running those commercials on TV. Still, give them a call. The worst they can say is "no". Be aware though, that with bad credit, even if you get a loan, you'll probablty be paying double-digit interest rates. If this is for a basic-transportation car, finance as little as possible. Forget the Xterra, get a Pontiac and get your finances back together. Jethro Tull 03-02-2009, 04:01 PM Hey Snowboard, I keep thinking "I've met this guy before the meet last fall". Then I remember what you said about Super Mario! We have other celebrities among the locals. Darius looks kind of like Edward in that vampire movie, "Twilight", and was it Maul's girlfriend's brother that brought the red RX-8 with the dots around the headlights? He kind of reminds me of Yu-Gi-Oh! bose 03-02-2009, 04:06 PM Another place that does in house financing and have a good per. around here is first class cars. They even give you 0% financing if the payments are made on time! All used cars around here are bought at auction, so they are pretty much the same. Even they turned me away. So if they can do it, your credit is at least better than mine. Jethro Tull 03-02-2009, 04:07 PM And First Class Cars even uses an RX-8 on their TV commercials! What nerve! lol 04rx8gr 03-02-2009, 04:12 PM I say we plan a meet for either March 28 or April 4. . . And go on the Alpine loop :) Yea yea? Lets plan early and get as many people as we can :) bose 03-02-2009, 04:48 PM Either day works for me. Sooner the better Alpine Loops sounds fantastic and by then we should have some killer backgrounds for pictorals. raleighRX8 03-02-2009, 04:58 PM he is excited because he will beable to drive finally! 04rx8gr 03-02-2009, 05:07 PM Dang straight. . . Then we can get some sweet pics :) maybe some new Sigs for you guys. lol Chewy is the only one cool enought to get one from me so far lol bose 03-02-2009, 05:30 PM Whatever my new signature is off the chain. 04rx8gr 03-02-2009, 05:36 PM Um . . . . hmmmm Jethro Tull 03-02-2009, 05:45 PM It will still be winter on the Alpine Loop in a month. Melt water running all over the roads, tires won't grip well. Wait until well into June for the canyons, when the melt is about over. Let's do a desert run in springtime. Head south or west. Wendover, for those over 21.... ;) Jethro Tull 03-02-2009, 05:46 PM I see you lurking maul, when are you posting those pics? bose 03-02-2009, 05:52 PM A weekend run to Wendover would be freaking awesome. Start early on a Saturday spend the day/night whatever. YEAH! But I'm down for the Alpine run anyways, My car is no stranger to the elements.:) Jethro Tull 03-02-2009, 05:53 PM I just hate having to go EASY on the twisties because of poor traction. :( Much more fun to push it. 04rx8gr 03-02-2009, 05:55 PM Hmmm well we will see how things are in a month but none the less lets plan a meet one of those weekends :) . . . I dont know about wendover . . .sounds boring for me :( lol bose 03-02-2009, 06:23 PM Dammit get older now!;) Tim Tim Tim 03-02-2009, 06:24 PM Menlove in Bountiful used to have a program for people with lousy credit, but I noticed that since they finished their new building, and the economy tanked, they haven't been running those commercials on TV. Still, give them a call. The worst they can say is "no". Be aware though, that with bad credit, even if you get a loan, you'll probablty be paying double-digit interest rates. If this is for a basic-transportation car, finance as little as possible. Forget the Xterra, get a Pontiac and get your finances back together. yeah I am going for something cheaper. I would love an xterra but I know its not the smartest thing to do. Honestly my bill load now is ALL together less then just my mtg payment was before and my income is higher then it ever was so in reality I can afford a bit more then the banks apparently trust me with haha. I think im going to go buy a beeter for 1-2k and drive it for a year and hopefully the credit will impove a bit bose 03-02-2009, 06:33 PM I freakin' hate credit. Mostly cause I screwed it up but I hate how the only thing that really makes it better is time. And yes I do pay double digit interest rates. 15.6% Ouch. but I had no other choice. Gook luck Triple T. Tim Tim Tim 03-02-2009, 06:47 PM id be happy with that, im sure im looking in the 20 something range. Im just going to bypass the whole credit thing right now I think. just buy cash and drive a pos around. I still have the 8 that my wife with drive so atleast we have one nice car. Credit is a scam/rip off, I agree. A job loss can fuck you for YEARS where the previous three years I have had 2 car loans and several credit cards with PERFECT payments and low balances. takes a few months to ruin 3 years worth of building up and now it will take 5 years just to get back where I was. Jethro Tull 03-02-2009, 09:32 PM My 8 is my weekend car- I drive a '91 Explorer the rest of the week, and all winter long. Of course, I bought it BN in '91, but now it's a rusted-out POS. I can't replace it for what it's worth, so I'll keep driving it until it falls apart...then probably get a Yaris or something similar, lol. We paid-off our house 2 years ago. :suitdance Tim Tim Tim 03-02-2009, 11:03 PM man you must be old!!! haha jk, I wish I could have paid off my house, instead we paid 170k for it in shitty condition, spent a month remodeling before we moved in (cheap since I did all of the work myself) doing the kitchen, bathrooms, crownmoulding, all new paint, redoing some of the baseboards, nice fireplace mantel etc. and then it goes up for sale at 120k and dont even get an offer in 6 months.. So now here I am with a terrible credit score at 21 years old, thank god im young enough to rebuild it at a reasonable age, to bad I have no patients though haha. BTW if any of you guys know of anyone selling a reliable car or truck for roughly 2k that would be awesome. Rather get something that we know is reliable vs a shot in the dark with a random car from the internet Jethro Tull 03-02-2009, 11:37 PM ^^ Whippersnapper! I paid off the house in 17 years and 10 months, I'll have you know. I'm not THAT old! Right now I'm looking for a used car for my daughter. I have about $3,000 budgeted and want to get it before summer. It's going to be her 17th birthday present. DariusDemon 03-03-2009, 04:50 AM Hey Darius, your engine smells very rich when chubacka is going! Just thought you should know! Oh dear... thats interesting. In a that's-shitty kind of way.:icon_no2: Darius looks kind of like Edward in that vampire movie, "Twilight".... Oh please Jethro, not you too, I thought the rx-8 forum was one place i could be safe from that comparison. Haha oh well, As long as its MOSTLY hot chicks who wish they had a sparkly vampire boyfriend:hitit: Anybody who got premix on Saturday and has used it for the first time, let us know if you notice any differences. Might take a full tank before you see anything- if you do. I filled up on the usual Chevron premium and put in 8oz of premix. Havent been far yet though. I'll definitely let ya'll know if I notice a difference. Hopefully it will help sedate the wooky under my hood. Tim Tim Tim 03-03-2009, 09:03 AM ^^ Whippersnapper! Tim Tim Tim 03-03-2009, 11:10 AM ^^ well your old too!!!! haha jk 04rx8gr 03-03-2009, 11:50 AM Awe SNAP! haha ;) Jethro Tull 03-03-2009, 11:51 AM Tim, if you'd go to the "over 40" thread in the lounge, you'd see how old I am. Oh, heck, I'll tell you. I'm 50 going on 18. :) So, yes, I'm old enough to be EVERYBODY's dad! There are only two or three guys in the Salt Lake Rotary club older than me (not by much), and we all knew each other back when we were young and driving first-gen RX-7's. Darius, I take it that you've heard that comparison before? lol, sorry! At least you don't look like Yu-gi-Oh! And yeah, the women melt for Edward, it could be a LOT worse. bose 03-03-2009, 11:52 AM http://i305.photobucket.com/albums/nn228/boseters/5414660_8716bf615a.jpg?t=1236099130 Jethro Tull 03-03-2009, 11:54 AM I came to work late today, and as I was northbound on I-215 at about 9 am, I saw a black 8 and grey 8 a mile behind it, both going southbound near the airport. Who are the Utah Mazda guys? Is it all types of Mazdas, not just rotaries? Jethro Tull 03-03-2009, 09:45 PM Nope , it is on the 21st. Did you know of another 1? The SLC Rotary board is probably going to have a low-key deal on the 28th, a food-n-brew social, like what we just had. raleighRX8 03-03-2009, 09:45 PM Yeah, mostly speed 3s , 6s and speed protoges. I have known them for a bit, nice bunch! raleighRX8 03-03-2009, 09:47 PM The SLC Rotary board is probably going to have a low-key deal on the 28th, a food-n-brew social, like what we just had. Sound like good times:) I don't think they've firmed up their plans yet, but I'll keep checking the thread to find out. Here they are, check it out: http://www.slcrotary.com/ Great bunch of guys. Almost all RX-7 owners, just bose, me, and a couple of others drive 8's. Jethro Tull 03-03-2009, 09:53 PM I've sent a senior admin a PM to see about making this thread the new "Utah sticky", or merging it with the existing "Utah sticky". We'll see what happens. Two threads for Utah seems excessive, lol. raleighRX8 03-03-2009, 09:54 PM Yeah, The other is dead anyhow. This one should be the sticky Tim Tim Tim 03-03-2009, 10:48 PM Man I really missed out on that meet. So we'll see. 04rx8gr 03-04-2009, 11:48 AM Does anyone know what the Rx8 MT gets on the 1/4 mile at this altitude? raleighRX8 03-04-2009, 01:48 PM New engine time!! Good to hear. All these new engines around makes me want one too, but not really.:) raleighRX8 03-04-2009, 02:16 PM you don't need one, try to keep it that way! Jethro Tull 03-04-2009, 02:40 PM New engine time!! Now its only Darius left! Hey, that's great! When will you have it back? My engine's only got 8700 miles on it, barely broken in. :) raleighRX8 03-04-2009, 02:42 PM I get it back today, then I have to take in when the new engine arrives, hopefully in a week or so! Then I will have 0miles on my engine! haha Jethro Tull 03-04-2009, 02:46 PM BTW, I had mine inspected yesterday so I could renew my registration. I took it to D. Dahle, had them change the oil while they were at it. When I went out to drive home after they finished, I found that they had broken my center console lid! I stormed back in there and made them replace it immediately. They did it right there in front of the service-writer's desk. Idiots! And they put a big smudge on my windshield, I'm gessing when they put the oil-change sticker on the windshield. This is the first less-than-satisfactory experience I've had at a Mazda dealer. I'm going to include it in the questionaire that comes from Mazda after each service visit. No excuses. Jethro Tull 03-04-2009, 02:47 PM I get it back today, then I have to take in when the new engine arrives, hopefully in a week or so! Mine has 65 miles on it. . :) raleighRX8 03-04-2009, 03:04 PM Start your premix right away, and order yourself a case from Mazdatrix. Correct! I plan on having this car a long time(even though it is auto!) so I want to treat it right! raleighRX8 03-04-2009, 03:05 PM . . . Mine has 65 miles on it. . :) You must have went for a big ride yesterday! 04rx8gr 03-04-2009, 03:10 PM Na, we have drove it a few times and I snuck it down to the car wash before the meet haha maul 03-04-2009, 04:43 PM BTW, I had mine inspected yesterday so I could renew my registration. I'm going to include it in the questionaire that comes from Mazda after each service visit. No excuses. D. Dahle is the worse place for any mazda to be taken inn for service (from my own experience with my 3 mazdas) maybe that is where my center console broke from :( bose 03-04-2009, 04:47 PM I'm leary of any dealer, no one takes better care of your stuff than you ya know.:icon_no2: Good that they fixed it for you on the spot Chuck, that's utter bullshit. Jethro Tull 03-04-2009, 04:51 PM Well, I had to stand my ground. His easiest route was to make me happy immediately. I bought my car from Legacy. They were giving me free oil changes, but it cost me a lot of gas and time to get there. When they folded, I went to Bountiful and D.Dahle. Freeway Mazda is too far to go for me- further than Legacy was. This is the first time D. Dahle has exhibited a problem. They've always accommodated me on my terms, and really, they did do what I asked them to do on the console lid, so I can't be too unhappy with them. Waving my extended warranty under their noses is usually all I need to do. I paid 2 grand for that sucker and I'm going to make sure I didn't throw my money away! Jethro Tull 03-04-2009, 04:53 PM BTW, guys, I'm looking seriously at the Mazdaspeed exhaust. The one with two little mufflers, not the one big one like stock. Anybody heard one of those? Jethro Tull 03-04-2009, 04:54 PM I wonder what happened to Cline's Mazda. It's where I bought my RX-7 back in '79. They disappeared some years ago, I guess. raleighRX8 03-04-2009, 05:00 PM BTW, guys, I'm looking seriously at the Mazdaspeed exhaust. The one with two little mufflers, not the one big one like stock. Anybody heard one of those? My GReddy SP2 has dual mufflers and cost 1/3 of what the MS cost :)FYI BTW I just picked up my car and added the pre-mix, WOW between that an d2 new coil it is like a new car, still sounds like chewbacca though! Jethro Tull 03-04-2009, 05:17 PM My GReddy SP2 has dual mufflers and cost 1/3 of what the MS cost :)FYI BTW I just picked up my car and added the pre-mix, WOW between that an d2 new coil it is like a new car, still sounds like chewbacca though! You won't notice anything until you've run at least a tank through there, but save it for your new engine anyway. I do like the sound of the Greddy, but I'm stuck on Mazda. It means "no hassle" on any warranty issues, and they even warranty their install. This is probably the last brand-new car I will ever buy and it's going to last me into retirement and beyond. 20 years from now, having it all Mazda will keep the value higher. I'm looking at the "Sport Exhaust", part no. GRMS-8M-K06, $785, $90 labor, + tax. About an hour install, so I can wait for it. Getting the old exhaust home might be fun...I may have to send up the company pickup truck to get it. I may order it this week; they pull stock from California and it takes about 5 working days to arrive. I guess no Mazdaspeed parts are carried in the Denver warehouse. raleighRX8 03-04-2009, 05:20 PM sounds good! I like the look of the MS exhaust alot, and warranty is good! Jethro Tull 03-04-2009, 06:00 PM Here's what I'm looking at: http://www.mazdausa.com/MusaWeb/speedDisplayAccessoryDetail.action?endModelYear=20 09&speedAccessoryId=43&carLineCode=RX8&categoryId=3&startModelYear=2004 Sport Exhaust - RX-8 (2004-2008) Part No: GRMS-8M-K06 MSRP: $785 Install: $90 About a one-hour job, quoted at the local dealership. Shipped from CA., about a week to deliver once the order is placed. raleighRX8 03-04-2009, 06:04 PM Yeah, I like that ! Shiny! bose 03-04-2009, 06:09 PM I have heard good things about it. I think actually it's the same exhaust MazdaManiac has on his car. Tim Tim Tim 03-04-2009, 08:31 PM man this forum moves too fast. Sounds like a new engine club here. I have about 20k on my new engine and I LOVE IT Jethro Tull 03-04-2009, 10:23 PM I haven't heard of any '06 or newer needing a new engine. Snug as a bug...on a rug! :rollingla bose 03-05-2009, 11:58 AM I just ordered some new motor mounts from Mazda, There is a new TSB out for them, looks like they changed the rubber material they are used, if anyone is wondering the cost is $250.16 for the mounts with tax and some shipping they are coming from Cali. I was quoted $110 for install. But after seeing how easy it is, I think I'll save my money. Jethro Tull 03-05-2009, 12:04 PM Wow . . I wasnt born till almost a decade after that. . . lol :eyetwitch I was about 21 at the time. It was the second BN car I had purchased. I bought my first one at 18, it was my high-school graduation gift to myself, in June of '77. A BN RX-7 in '79 cost me $10,300.00 out the door. Wish we could get a BN RX-8 for that today, lol. Jethro Tull 03-05-2009, 02:23 PM OK, I ordered the Mazdaspeed exhaust at lunch today. It will be here on Monday. Jethro Tull 03-05-2009, 09:14 PM I bet one day we could all combine our spare parts and build a whole new 8... raleighRX8 03-05-2009, 09:29 PM Now that would worth while! rx8snowboard 03-05-2009, 09:44 PM My motor mount is under my extended warranty so they are putting it in. I think it will- if your clutch pedal bracket is sound. That's great that the warranty is covering it. :) I love warranties! This is all coming together nicely. Now I have to make sure I get that new exhaust installed next week, and almost all of us will have our cars in great shape for a meet on the 21st or 28th. Jethro Tull 03-06-2009, 12:35 AM The other day I asked the parts guy at D. Dahle for a Mazdaspeed catalog- and he said they don't give them out. Today the parts guy at Bountiful Mazda handed me one without me having to say a word! I'm glad I ordered it through them. raleighRX8 03-06-2009, 09:18 AM The meet at Sugarhouse park on the 21st looks to be a pretty big one, if everyone that says they are coming actually does!
