View Full Version : Here's an idea to get new club members...
S3/P3/E2 12-21-2003, 10:22 PM Why not make up little slips of paper (or those fairly cheap perforated printer business cards) with the web address and basics about the RX-8 forum on them and carry them around in the glove box? Then anytime you're out and about and see one in a parking lot, etc. it would be easy enough to just tuck one under a wiper blade. Considering the HUGE amount of knowledge and lessons learned on this board, it sure would go a long way toward making an even more tightly knit owners community. Who knows - it might even get more dealer involvement if the car turned out to be a demo being driven around by a manager, etc. if it gets them in here and reading our posts...
Just a thought...personally I plan on doing it provided the Admins/Mods have no objection...
Here is something the Admin over at clubWRX had done, thought I'd post it up to help you get your creative juices flowing :)
S3/P3/E2 12-21-2003, 10:35 PM Yep - you're dead on the money Ike. That's exactly the type of thing I had in mind! :D
RX8-TX 12-22-2003, 12:11 AM Something like this??
I have a Photoshop with the originals in case someone is interested on playing a bit more with it. Just PM me.
Everything in DFW is livin large!!!
MichRX7 12-22-2003, 08:29 AM BTW, leaving the b/card or note on another car works great. I have a stack of business cards with Revolution logo and web address on them that I leave on every rotary vehicle I see. On the back I usually write rx7club.com or rx8club.com and/or something about the midwest forum.
I almost always hear from the person, and never have I had a negative response.
S3/P3/E2 12-22-2003, 01:06 PM I'd make the "advise" into "advice" for those of us in the lower 48 (sorry to our Canadian friends - what's that all aboot? :D), but otherwise that looks really good! Seems like an idea that may be catching on...
RX8-TX 12-22-2003, 01:12 PM Opss...I guess I can't be included in the 'knowledgeable' people's group!!

You're correct that "advice" is the proper spelling in the sentence previously stated but I don't understand the Canadian comment, we would spell it "advice" in that situation as well.
mikeb 12-22-2003, 04:47 PM this is a great idea

Actually I think something a little LARGER would work, like a semi..

Man, that's the size to print 1/8th of a letter format and make it come up pretty crisp in quality!
mental pimp 12-25-2003, 10:12 PM bump
8_wannabe 01-18-2004, 02:12 PM Rather than posting an image of the file, can you post the actual file so we can download and store on our computers? I think the forum server is set up to let you do that.
ah awesome, i obviously missed this post in the past.
i fiddle with some ideas as well, see what i can crank out.

zoom44 02-06-2004, 06:47 PM anyone come up with a really nice one? pimp's is good
poolsidenaz 04-08-2004, 05:44 PM Hey Mental Pimp - that's a sharp looking card / invitation / flyer you've got there. Someone above asked about creating a file that we can download to our computers to save and print up as needed. Has that ever happened and if not would you be willing to take a stab at it for those of us who are rather challenged in such things? I'd print the one you posted but, as you mentioned, there's a typo or two. I'd love to print up a few cool little club cards and start leaving them around town! :)
Detroit RX8 07-07-2004, 08:22 AM Anyone get anymore cards made up?

Exactly. Advise is a verb.. advice is a noun and in this context, correct. Lots of folks also confuse practise (v) with practice (n). The only way I can remember is 'ice'= noun. Pretty lame but it works for me. ;) The cards are a great idea! Thanks. [Don't think I'd better get into the bikini discussion as I'm a newbie and older than dirt-just a quiet vote: "YES!"]
Jeffjett 07-07-2004, 08:53 AM I like Guy's idea. Get the ladies of RX8 to pose in bikinis. That will increase forum circulation :) :) :)
BigOLundh 04-18-2006, 07:26 PM can someone get the pics for this thread to show again?
here's my attempt

NoTears316 04-18-2006, 08:46 PM That's awesome... 2 1/2 years and no one ever fixed the spelling.
