Been thinking about getting front/rear rotary accent but I just noticed that they are about $130. Seems pretty expensive for accents ... do these just pop on? I'm afraid that if I buy them and someone can just pry them out easily... and they are expensive to replace.

RE Rotary accents - actually they are not 130 -

You can search for "trussville mazda" and they sell these for approximately 53/62 (front and rear). Another thread says this is a good site for ordering accessories - I can not confirm that they have the best prices...
The invoice price for these (both front and rear) $111; also you should be able to order from any Mazda dealer's parts dept.

As for install - I am not sure, I got my 8 yesterday and they were already installed.

Run a search for the thread that talked about it, but someone else also ordered theirs after the fact. Evidently there's adhesive tape that holds them in place like most auto emblems as well as a screw that keeps them there. Between the two it seems like a pretty easy add for even those gradutes of the "School For the Mechanically Declined."

Yeah...the front rotary accent has a plastic "plug" that actually holds it into place along with the 3M adhesive tape... both of them install in less than 2 minutes =)

Been hoping that an aftermarket rotary accent would be out by now :)

I guess is somebody wanted them they could get to them eventually. I wouldn't worry about them too much. The accents are tits.. I would get them if I were you. ;)
