Tah dah! Hope you guys like it. Took me the whole darn day 8 hours :Eyecrazy:. Who says i should black out my tail's as well?
SiLVeRE8 03-29-2009, 02:37 AM nice lookin clean
rx8phase1 03-29-2009, 03:35 AM nice and i like how u used flash cards i used newspaper and that takes forever lol
lokaldisruption 03-29-2009, 04:42 AM id say black tem out. i just recently got vht niteshades and will trying that out tomro.any1 had experience with them?
Peppy@kacework 03-29-2009, 10:06 AM Looks good, btw your exhaust shroud is falling off.
shazy 03-29-2009, 10:40 AM I say don't black them out, as it looks cheesy on this car. But tint them abit to make it look darker :)
Looks good. I would've popped out the centercaps and sprayed them separate... but good job.
pdxhak 03-29-2009, 12:24 PM Need a drop now to help with the aggressive look :)
Did you paint the inside of the wheels? If so then the wheel weights are going to leave a mark the next time swap tires or get balanced.
Yeah shazy i should of tinted my tailights as well. Am i suppose to disconnect all the bulbs? I do not want to mess up taking it out haha. But hopefully ill do those today since i have my nightshade besides me.
Yeah thanks guys. Im trying to get coilovers next so i can get a big drop. Yeah my exhaust shroud is all messed up. Anyone know what i can do to fix it? maybe just buy a new one?
myriadshalaks 03-29-2009, 03:05 PM i've said it before, and i'll say it again. i don't like this. spray paint from can + car = bad idea.
mscamp02 03-29-2009, 03:07 PM I think I should have did this instead of buying aftermarket black ones, and yeah you should black out your tailes
TheBurkeMan 03-29-2009, 03:23 PM looks nice maybe a little more info like what kind of paint did you use and the process
Alucard 03-29-2009, 08:43 PM looks great... you might wanna put some more clear on them and then buff them to get a better shine :)
looks great... you might wanna put some more clear on them and then buff them to get a better shine :)
Am i allowed to do that after its been a day? i only put 2 clear coats because i liked that flat black look.
2tone 03-29-2009, 09:46 PM i think it looks nice man. the lugs really set it apart from other black oem rims. looks like a pretty good shine already...i don't think i would have the patience to do that!
yes im a person who has no patience but i was like alrite im going to do this today and finnaly got to work. Arent you suppose to not spray anything on the finished product? wouldnt it be weird if i added for example the paint or clearcoat hahaha.. -0-
kah6987 03-30-2009, 07:22 AM nice man you wanna give me a step by step on what you did cause I am thinking about doing this to my whip but not 100% sure on how to do it
Pretty simple actually. Just takes a lot of time. Wash your wheels very well with acetone etc and then wet sand them i had only 600 sanding paper. After that i put on 3 coat of primer 30 min per coat, i guess you can do more. then 3-4 coats of the actual paint 30min per coat, then if you want to clearcoat it 30min inbetween i only did 2 coats of clearcoat but i guess you can do more if you want it more glossy.
kah6987 03-30-2009, 09:43 PM sweet thanks man
haha np man. so hrmm anyone know if i can use "paint" over the clearcoat so i can give my rims more color? i know i can clearcoat it after the finished product but i really dont know about the "actual coating paint"
