Comments please. Jedi54 03-27-2009, 05:43 PM AEM or Racing Beat Search is your friend. ;) Spinning Sushi 03-27-2009, 05:43 PM The best intake is the one that goes outside of the car and into the cockpit where the filter sits infront of the AC vents. deadphoenix52 03-27-2009, 05:56 PM stock jmm'srx8 03-27-2009, 05:57 PM stock Really? Why? 9krpmrx8 03-27-2009, 05:58 PM stock Yep, take that $300.00 and buy springs. Because a CAI for $300.00 is a waste. You get no usable HP. deadphoenix52 03-27-2009, 05:59 PM the stock intake is very well designed. unless your going for sound, theres not much to gain. remove the vfad, one of the screens, and get a k&n drop in. lilring 03-27-2009, 06:18 PM Just add the RB Ram Air part and you have your intake done kersh4w 03-27-2009, 06:29 PM rb ram air duct + k&n filter bam. best CAI for the money. edit: nonono. carbon fiber ram air http://www.fluidmotorsports.com/p-97-exterior-styling.aspx + k&n drop in. the carbon fiber ram air has the advantage that air does not need to take 2 90 degree turns, thus slowing it down. it goes straight into the intake. the disadvantage is that you 1. may not like the look and/or 2. you have to cut your bumper to install it. Red Rex 03-27-2009, 07:19 PM AEM cold air intake. But technically the stock air box is a cold air intake. You'll only pick up a few horsepower from ANY aftermarket intake. The AEM offers a really nice flash under the hood and a nice sound plus its compatible with some FI kits. A new set of springs will get you more noticeable performance than a cold air intake though. This isn't a drag car. And unless you plan of spending $5,000 easily, it never will be. REsuperD 03-27-2009, 07:21 PM The best intake is the one that goes outside of the car and into the cockpit where the filter sits infront of the AC vents. i like this idea kersh4w 03-27-2009, 07:22 PM do you know how much an AEM cold air intake costs new? because you completely disregarded MY IDEA, which beats it by several hundred dollars and IS NO BETTER than the stock intake when modded with my ideas. Brettus 03-27-2009, 07:33 PM The best intake is the one that goes outside of the car and into the cockpit where the filter sits infront of the AC vents. +2 - that's badass . Wasn't there a pic of this around somewhere jmm'srx8 03-27-2009, 08:01 PM Well, I already have the K&N drop in installed so it sounds like I am more than half way home. I was looking for ways to add some mileage to the car. More HP was not really the main focus for me. kersh4w 03-27-2009, 09:30 PM follow either of my two ideas. racing beat duct is $135 afaik. http://www.rx7store.net/v/vspfiles/photos/Racing%20Beat%20RAM%20Duct-2T.jpg and the cf ram air duct is $105. tuning, like the cobb accessport, will net you better mileage too. but thats $700+tuning. tuning is free if you buy it from mazdamaniac though. risky business 03-27-2009, 09:57 PM the stock intake is very well designed. unless your going for sound, theres not much to gain. remove the vfad, one of the screens, and get a k&n drop in. i agree with this. its what i did 2SeeKU 03-28-2009, 01:56 AM Or odula: http://www.rhdjapan.com/images/product/55847/Image/Normal/Image.jpg Sorry for the image size... laythor 03-28-2009, 03:11 AM just tie a block of ice to the manifold and replace it every time it melts.
