Dude it's not really a modding meet, it's a cruise and just a good time to take advantage of being over there. 2 hours TOPS if not less on getting the tires and exhaust in. Great reason to do both.

Should mention that my install will be very quick because the tires and wheels will be ready and waiting. Just needs to slap them on. If Jay gets news tires to go on his rims, his will be very quick too. So the day can be as long or as short as we want it. The install is only a small part of the day.

As a reminder, $25 is up fro grabs to the third volunteer I need to haul a tire to across the border and to Oakville, ideally.

johnny famous, we are working on trying to get the more US interest...but nobody seems to be biting yet. im hoping it was because of how lose all the plans were at the time....or maybe there just arent any/many rx8clubers from the area and no one wants to make the drive. im really hoping more US guys will come out though. when i was part of a suzuki club, we had a meet with a group from quebec and it was a blast. its so weird how a few KMs and everyones cars are so different and their ideas about them are all different too. its just really nice meeting across borders or groups you know.

You should be fine.. just don't really push 100% until you're completely comfortable with the turbo setup... but since this is a cruise and not a track day you shouldn't have any problems at all :)

I would think that the best plact to meet in Oakville would be at the Timmies off of Trafalgar and the QEW. Just get off the QEW head north on Trafalgar to the first set of lights (Iroquois Shore Rd.) hang a right and there is a timmies on your right hand side....

Ok YES! - I have mapquest each of your suggestions, and Thunders seems to make the most sense so they don't have to travel so far north and it's on the way.

East/North East ppl will meet at fairview (by the Shoppers Drug mart, which is around the back btw), then travel to Dorval Drive in Oakville and meet up with whomever that is easiest for.

Cross border at 9?? why so early?? Lets do - Meet at 7:45 at fairview roll out at 8 (if you are late meet you in oakville), meet in Oakville at 8:30ish roll out of there at 9 (if you are late, meet you at tire shop cross the border), at the border just after 10.

lol, i was just pokin' fun at it really. its not necessary to redo them in google maps. i just prefer google maps. the layout is nicer, plus after i print the directions off, i usually turn on the satelite feature and play around with that for a while. lol. BTW, if you go to the location of the shop in niagara in google maps, there is a streetview of that area. you can actually see what the shop looks like and everything. haha. lets see your mapquest do that! ha.

sigh... so I get the ipod adapter for my car for this cruise (well.. one of the reasons).. I distroy my hands in the process of the install (for whatever reason some perfectionist at Mazda decided to have the least amount of length for all the wires going into the deck as possible).. and now the damn thing hisses at me while playing from the ipod. Ya can't notice it when the song is relatively loud.. but when it's soft it's there.... and it's annoying. GRUNT

Give them a call, talk to Ray he is the parts manager say Marc from Rx8club sent you and see what he can hook you up with. Otherwise start researching.

how does it work with the head unit? i have the Mazda ipod connector on mine and i HATE the interface!!! but the sound quality is very good...

You are getting good at the 'blind man' install lol. That's cool...weird about the static, you might be able to find a noise/feedback dampener/reducer or something. They have that stuff for stereos to kill static.

I have talked to Mike to see if it's ok to have some stuff sit with him till we get there. Mentioned about the install, we will be doing it with jacks. Rev said it's easier better that way. I have jack stands which I will bring, not sure if it's worth bringing my bigger jack tho.

WHAT...it's OEM wtf is that about?? Isn't that the point of buying a MS authentic piece, it is supposed to fit!

It didnt line up properly, my bumper was repaired once, the bondo took it out of place.

Hopefully the oem bumper will be mint with lining up with the speed bumper.

The problem with the speed bumper is that it uses adhesives to stay together on the top portion.

So who wants to bring back my wheels? Incentive? You can use my Best Buy discount to get yourself a radar detector, or be nice and bring em back for me.

I really cant wait for this cruise. I got half my suspension installed tonight and hopefully doing the rear tomorrow night. Man was it sketchy with the back end riding so high and the front slammed. lol. way more tail happy than before...like dangerously tail happy in the rain. thats not to say im not smiling still, i just hope when i put the rear springs and struts on it will be back the way it was, just tighter. BTW, the front springs suspension is very very easy to take apart. i had the struts out in like 10 mins. the only thing that took time was compressing the springs and taking that all apart as our spring compressor at work sucks sweaty donkey balls.

jay, they are swift springs. huge improvement over the stock GS crap with a blown shock. lol. and of course ill be helping with the install meet man. air tools arent required at all man. they speed it up a bit, but really not that necessary. hell, i could bring all the tools needed and carry them in with one hand. you will need a spring compressor though. I dont care what anyone says, its not safe to take a loaded spring apart without one and i wont take part if there isnt going to be a good spring compressor there.

The accessport doesn't work that way. It only works on one car at a time until it's uninstalled from that car.

I changed the front springs and shocks on my first car years ago. Did it in my garage at home... BUT the first thing i did was go to Crapy Tire and rent a spring compressor. Didn't feel like killing myself taking off the retaining nut!!
Mind you that was on a '95 Ford Escort with a whopping 88hp!!!!!:)

I'm considering going on the cruise now. Just got word I have to be in Alberta for work the last week of April, which means no mosport for me :( So I'll more than likely come on the cruise, meet some of you guys.

im not running a front plate either (stole the idea from thumper). I took mine off the day after the forks cruise last year (which was in november i think) and havent been bothered about it yet. I put mine in the windshield though (on the passenger side with a little suction cuppy thing to make it not rattle around and make it more visible as well). Although, im in guelph, people just dont get hastled by cops in guelph...

Same here, someone backed into my car in the parking lot at work, no damage to the car but mangled my front plate. It's been living in my trunk for the last year and a half.... and no body has bugged me about it!! (knock on wood)

Dude.. the US customs dudes don't give a rats if you're going to the casino or shopping.. you're spending money in the US.. that's all that's important. It's coming back across the Canadian boarder where you say that you hit the casino....

Good idea Thumper because many of us will likely be going in different directions through the middle part of the day. The Casino is called Seneca Niagra Casino and Hotel (http://www.senecaniagaracasino.com/about_directions.cfm) . It is very close to the border and is probably a good place to re-connect before crossing.

You're thinking about this way too much dude. I use to live literally on the border when I was in BC... use to cross all the time... there's always a chance that they'll pull acouple of people over... but as long as you don't have anything IN the car (spare tire don't mean shit) you're fine. Now if you were to be rolling across the boarder with a new set of rims or rubber... different story ;)

Reason being, we would go through the 850m tunnel under the Welland Canal at highway speeds. With one car it sounds evil, with a pack we could probably summon demons.

im game for that. Wish i had an aftermarket exhaust to join in on the fun though. I drove a customers car today with a magnaflow and it was really impressive actually. Looked great, has held up great over the years (it was installed in late 04 when he got the car and still looks to be in great condition) and it sounded really nice. didnt get a change to take it out and make her beep to hear the sound up there, but i really liked what i heard under normal driving.
