Any of you guys ordered an RX-8 using the Mazda (Ford) S-Plan in Canada?

On the US Ford Partner site, they have a PDF of S-Plan pricing breakdown. Makes it pretty simple.

But for Canada, all they have is this:

Mazda: Dealer Net + 4% + $300 PDI + Gas + $25 Admin Fee

Now, I am interested in a 6-Speed GT, which comes out at $39,595 MSRP.

Anyone have any idea what the price would be with the Canadian S-Plan formula?

Through my work we have access to Ford (and affiliated company) X-Plan pricing.

However, Ford had 3 exceptions to any of these pricing schemes last time I checked...

All Aston Martin vehicles
Ford F350/450 etc. and up trucks.
Mazda RX-8

What's the difference between X-Plan and S-Plan?

No difference. Ford and Volvo call it X-Plan, and Mazda (at least US) calls it S-Plan.

And the RX-8 *was not* on the S-Plan until just a short time ago... which is how I'm convincing my wife that it really *is* a viable option. :)

Well, if anyone can come up with the Canadian "Dealer Net" on the RX-8, I can figure out the rest.

Hmm... let me attach this Mazda USA pdf to show you the S-Plan pricing and RX-8 in it.

I'm very interested to know as well ....

RacerDave, I'm planning to do right about the same thing as you are. Please let me know if you come up with anything thanks.

Maybe we can call up Mazda Canada and find out.

Thanks for clearing up the X-Plan vs. S-Plan.. I figured it was just a name thing.
I knew I could have saved some money if I'd waited... but...well... I just couldn't do it. :)

I just posted this in the Dealer forum:

We'll see if anything happens. I may try to email Mazda... I'm not expecting to get anywhere with them, but I'll try. :)

I emailed the XPlan people asking about how to verify the XPlan price for Mazda vehicles, and they told me the S plan price is on the invoice, and that's the same as the X-Plan price. Do we know for sure that the S-Plan price is not on the invoice for Canadian vehicles?

Here's an update for those who are intested at buying the car with the X-Plan (which is what it is called now in Canada).

X-Plan Pricing: Dealer Net + 4% + $300 PDI + Gas + $100 Admin Fee. (Admin is $100 not $25 anymore)

Also, the 2004 Mazda RX-8 and 2003, 2003.5 MazdaSpeed Protege is NOT eligible for X-Plan purchasing due to limited quantity.

Got all of these Info from a veteran Sale Manager from a Mazda Dealer. I was getting down to the details on ordering a 2005 model with a X-Plan and wanted to see what the pricing is like for the 2004 model and this is what we found. Anyhow, when I know what the pricing for the 2005, I'll post it here. Let me know if you have any other news racerdave !

Smoker,

Do you know when the "effective date" of the 8 being elegible for the X-Plan? I just bought mine a month or so a go and they were adament that it was not eligible.

Thanks

Hey Spaceman,
No sure but on Wednesday I called the sales guy at Avante who I have been in contact with for some other matters and he told me the X-Plan is now good for the RX-8 as well and his dealership sold 3 RX-8 recently to customer with X-Plan.

By the way, he also told me that the MSRP is roughly 10% over invoice. So assuming that is correct, take 10% off the MSRP and add 4% on to it and you'll get the approximate X-Plan price
