Wahoooo.....I get to post my first thread...been dying to ask this for awhile, but for some reason the system won't let me post anything.

Okay when i got my 8 the sales guy said that you can reprogram the Dvd Nav to play dvd. He said one of his customer bought an 8 and did this. I just want to know if this is true? Is there some way to make the Nav system play dvd? If so how can i do this? Anybody? Anybody? Oh and let me know if there are threads or links that had talk about this before. Thanx and much appreciated. :D

Your salesman pretty much lied to you. It's possible to add on a bunch of equipment and use the Nav screen as a general purpose display, but it isn't possible to "reprogram" the Nav system to play DVDs.

I still think it's for good reasons that you can't do this, as I've opined before in other threads on the topic.
