Below is the general idea of what the gauge pod is made from to show the quality and fitments of it.

-The original OEM center dash cover will be used to insure the fitment to be 100% perfect.
-The Lotek gauge pod will be modified and cut so it can be molded flush with the OEM center dash cover.
-The finish will be in jet black which will match the original piano black color!

This pod will only fit 52 mm gauges! Please make sure first!

- The price for the Custom Center Triple Gauge Pod is: $430.00 shipped! (Painted Jet Black)
NEW UPDATE!!!: The gauge pod can be done in different colors upon request as long as the color code is provided! For other colors other than black, it will cost an additional $30.00 extra on top of the painted price!

- The price with the option for not painted (primer) is: $360.00 shipped! (Primer)

However, there will be 3 options for you to save money on this pod!

The following three options are optional:

#1 This option will help you save $50.00! because I will not have to provide an oem center dash cover to complete the gauge pod modification. Instead, you will send in your oem center dash cover to me, so work can be done on it, then it will be sent back to you. The estimated turnaround time will be 14 days from the day I received it. You are responsible for the first shipping cost, but I will take care of the second shipping cost which is shipping the final product back to you.

*Note: For the first option You will not have to obtain the Lotek gauge pod because that will be taken care of by me to complete the final product! The cost of the final product will include: the Lotek gauge pod (which will be used for the custom gauge pod) and painted jet black (unless otherwise notified for it to not to be painted).

- The price for option #1 is: $380.00 shipped! (Painted Jet Black)
- The price for option #1 not painted (primer) is: $310.00 shipped! (Primer)


#2 If the first option does not work for you, the second option for you to save $50.00! is to send in your oem center dash cover to me after you receive the final product. Once I receive the oem center dash cover, I will then reimburse you with a discount!

*Note: For the second option I will be providing the Lotek gauge pod and the oem center cover. The cost of the final product will include: the Lotek gauge pod (which will be used for the custom gauge pod), the OEM center dash cover , and painted jet black (unless otherwise notified for it to not to be painted).

- The price for option #2 not painted (primer) is: $360.00 shipped! (primer)
(You will be reimbursed with a $50.00 discount once I receive your OEM center dash cover, so price after discount for painted will be $380.00 shipped! and price after discount for not painted (primer) will be $310 shipped)


#3 Option number 3 will help you save $100.00!, it is for those who already have the lotek gauge pod installed or not (does not matter) can send in the whole thing for work to be done on it. This option will be the most affordable because the oem center dash cover and the lotek gauge pod will not need to be provided.

Note: For the third option I will not need to include the lotek gauge pod and the oem center dash cover due to you providing your own. The cost of the final product will include: painted jet black (unless otherwise notified for it to not to be painted).

- The price for option #3 painted is: $330.00 shipped! (Painted Jet Black)
- The price for option #3 not painted (primer) is: $260.00 shipped! (Primer)

The reason for the cost is because of the OEM center cover is used for the custom fabrication in order to obtain 100% perfect fitment! Also the lotek gauge pod and paint is included.

I would so buy this if I wasn't going to put a computer in!

woot woot... little update for those who placed an order: 3 of the lotek pods have been cut and prepped! They will be bonded together tomorrow, then fiberglass reinforcement the next day!

are you placing the fiberglass directly to the plastic? Are you at all worried that it will separate if bent?

The gauge pod is reinforced by silicone adhesive and layered over with fiberglass fabric reinforcement on top and bottom. On top of all that there is another final layer of fiberglass filler. It has been through the flexibility test and it holds up strong! Thanks!

edit: I have had the gauge pod installed on my car for over 2 years and it is still holding strong

Unfortunately this will not work with the right hand drive setup because the gauge pod is directional... but I can do it with the Fujita (Feed Gauge Pod) as they only make it for the right hand drive application. Please pm if you are interested in taking that route!

Hey dansy what color are you planning on painting yours? Im just curious.... lol

The short answer I don't know......But will have the car freshly painted so may as well got that stuff at the same time.

I'm going to completely change my car in the next 2 years....I deploy a lot for short period, so any less (time wise)is pretty much impossible....I got a VR with red/blk interior and I don't really know what I'm going to do inside (aside from the gauge and removing the Nav and Bose system)installing a metra double pins and most likely the Kenwood 8120 and a bunch of new speaker and amps....

I'm just about decided on the body pieces and I'm going the supercharger route for sure but then again I haven't completely decide between Petitt and Hymee......I should be done in about 2 years....complete exhaust a whole wack inside the engine bay....coilover and sway bar/links....wheels well like I said the whole new cars :)

I'm very much mechanically incline so I'm doing the mechanic myself...paint and radio will be pro stuff...

Sounds like a big project coming up! Cant wait till you make a build thread on your 8.

Will make a tread for sure...and yes I have been debating for a while about either replacing the 8 with something like a porsche or building my 8 like nuts......I did tried some cars ;) and in the end the 8 is pay for so why not just get crazy and poor huge $$ into a car I do love.

I did own a RX7 1985 SE for 5 years and I always regretted selling it....so I wont make the same mistake twice :mdrmed:

The gauges which I am using are the prosport 52mm gauges.

The difference between the two are quite huge...

The lotek pod alone will be glued ontop of the center dash cover and just sits there. Most people including me find it irritating seeing the lotek pod just sitting ontop of the center dash cover because it is quite obvious to see gaps around the edges and edges may be popping out due to heat (if you live in a hot area).

The custom gauge pod uses the lotek pod which is cut and fiberglass molded onto the center dash cover. Therefore, it becomes bonded into one single piece instead of two. There will not be any crease or gaps showing at all and all edges will be flush and smooth in result of it being one quality piece. In the end, the custom gauge pod will go perfectly with the interior of the 8 and especially the face of the radio if you request it in black (but other colors can be an option also).

Just a side note: I have had the pod for over 2.5 years and it still looks as if I first installed it.

I was going to PM u this comment but rather post it in this thread to make it clear to others the respect I have and respect is needed to be given for those with brilliant minds which think up these amazing ideas of making something new, custom, readily available for a reasonable price, for the RX8's we drive daily and dump Lots of money for gas and maintainence into.
