Hi all,
I have done a search and cannot find any info on this site or any other site for this matter. I am seriously thinking of putting a six port Renesis 13B into my 1969 Mazda R100 coupe, as I am sick of the unreliabilty of the old 10A motor and the unavailabiltiy of engine parts for the 10A.
Does anyone know what is involved or if anyone has actually converted one of these motors into carburetor feed and having put an early series I/II RX7 electronic dizzy front housing on as well??
Thanks

I can tell you this much: I have new 10A parts and we're coming out with ceramic seals for them VERY soon. There's your reliability. Changing ignition to 81-85 RX7 is a good solution.
If you do a renny swap that would be fierce, but a lot of work. I personally hate to see a rare chassis like that change powerplant all together.

if i were you i would put an REW motor in instead, stock twins and everything.
mounting would be much easier, use the 12a front cover maybe and the dizzy, and then the oil pan is easier too.
The renesis has all electronic controlled throttle "fly by wire" system and would be very difficult to convert over to a carbeurated setup esp. with the plastic manifolds i dunno..
im half only saying this because i have an REW motor sitting in my garage lookin for a project :P

Mark/Hymee ran his SC'd Renny in a Mazda 808(ne rx-3?) wagon
photo just for clarity not the actual one used by hymee

and ran the whole thing with a motec.
so you should be able to do the same in your R100. dont go carburated go motec:)
but seriously think about keeping the 10a and getting some parts and ceramics from mazmart. id hate to see your 10a go away
