How about just starting an IRC channel :)

Or if you have an IM id, post it up in your sig block.

yea chat rooms on websites are huge resource hog's i would suggest an irc channel.... i am a server admin and would be interested in having the community there and as to not spam my server or network i will wait to see who pm's me and is interested in starting to bring the community chat there.
