why are no pictures or audio or nothin commin up besdies the opening clip and the menu. I would click on the History or Renesis or that 3rd one and it would just sit there, why is that?

It does the same thing for me. Can't see anything useful except the intro.

Its a beautifully well done summary; nice sound clips of the LeMans car! I've been arguing with a co-worker about how to pronounce "Wankle." Now I know. The second two modules start out explaining a simple, elegant engine, and by the time you get to the end of the discussion of the Renesis engines you realize how monstrously complicated it all really is.

So, is this really a 1.3L engine or not? If each rotor does the work of three pistons, then shouldn't it be a 3.9L engine?

don't start with that: in the end, it all resides on how exactly you're defining what is "displaced volume" and what isn't. so, you can have answers of 1.3L, 2.6L, or 3.9L and be arguably correct in all three cases. for volumetric comparison to 4stroke piston engines, it's 2.6L. in rotary terms (as in 2stroke terms) it really is only 1.3L.

Actually, I've never heard it pronounced correctly anywhere - this presentation included.

Ok, so what's the deal with the metering oil pump going through a self-test every 12 ignitions, stepping from min to max? Does this mean that every 12 times you start the car, it is using a good bit more oil to test itself, or is the amount used in the test insignificant compared to the total used while driving? Also, I don't guess there's any way to tell when this is happening, is there?

It goes through this self test every time the engine is started, not every 12 cycles, it's wrong. The only way to see this is to monitor the data using the dealer's diagnostic tool. If the pump was stuck at zero & it self tested after 12 IG cycles, your engine will be damaged before a CEL came on. The oil used in the self test is slight.

I haven't gone through the whole thing, but the "how a rotary engine works" animations are excellent! Now I can show my buddy, who drives a Bimmer 635 Csi and 535i, how the rotary works. He was the only person out of over a dozen (including at least one child) who asked "how many cylinders does it have?"

I don't know if it will sink in though. I had to correct him once when he told one of his colleagues his BMW had a V6.
