Say hi to everyone from a chinese boy currently studying in England.new to this site and hopefully someone can help me to ID my problem.
forgive my english :)

just got a 8 for 4 weeks.I love the looking and handling.
a few issues really bother me.

1: rough idle,
when the car is fully warmed up.some times the car will idle rough.(idle speed between 700-900)drop down and go back .when idle speed drops i will feel the the seats, gear stick vibrate more.
2: vibrate
when the car is cold,it is ok idle speed will be about 2500.when the car is fully warmed up,the backdoors gearstick. seats(really bother my ass).sometimes I can hear a metal knocking noise only happens when idle.to me it is not from inside of the engine.(sometimes once or twice a day).the car pulls hard/strong .easy to do redline .engine sounds fine.
no CEL
just put new plugs.no much difference.
went to dealer.they said nothing wrong.i know there is some thing wrong.
i did a lot research.still could not ID the problems
could it be the mount?dealer said they would charge 600 GBP to do the mount if they are gone.
can anyone help me out?

Update:new coils.wires.reset ecu.cleaned MAF.new engine mounts .
Still the same:(
Scanned but no error code found.
Please help

2004 rx8 70k miles MT.
thanks again

there may be more problems.. but a bad motor mount is almost definitely one of them.

I have that idle problem too. I have seen a few threads about it; never bothered to read one. I probably should. My car has about 22.8k miles.

Normal for stick to shake.

Idle will move a couple hundred rpm.

Clean the MAF and then rest ECU by disconnecting battery.

Go to one of your locsl club meets.

well I know it will shake. But sometimes (usually when stopped on uphill *however, that may just be the only time I notice*) the seats will shake like the car is about to stall, or like if you are getting it moving using nothing but clutch. Doesn't really bother me. But I am curious if it is something that could potentially harm the car if not treated.
