View Full Version : RX8 Factory Service manual In PDF format.
Socket7 03-08-2009, 11:04 PM I got sick of this not being readily available online so I decided to do something about it. Below is a link to the entire RX8 Factory Service manual in PDF format.

A search for the manual would have given people results too (I thought that was your line nycgps) ;)
I searched the titles for Service Manual under the Tech section and got 14 results!
Its funny that we see this a few times a year and people post something like, "OH MY GOD... I never knew you could download that!"
Would be nice if we could legally sticky the manual here.....
Mazurfer 03-09-2009, 09:48 AM Downloaded this at least two years ago. You'd be surprised at all the stuff I have in my RX8 directory and sub-directories! Hopefully everyone running across this will do the same!
alnielsen 03-09-2009, 09:57 AM On the Mazdaspeed web site, there is also, in pdf format, a complete list of all the part numbers for the car. I only found that 2 months ago and it has already been very useful to me.
Razz1 03-09-2009, 10:35 AM I don't believe we have any PDF links in the stickies. Do we?
nycgps 03-09-2009, 10:37 AM I *think* the service manuals are copyrighted materials so ... shhhhhhhhhhhhHHHHHHHHHH :)
dznutzuk 03-09-2009, 11:11 AM or you could download the hole thing from carfische
zoom44 03-09-2009, 01:14 PM yeah as nycgps states that is copyrighted material you are distributing without permission. so if you want mazda to find out about it i suppose you could just leave it up or you could delete this thread. we wont be putting it in the stickies or in any other way promoting it.
Socket7 03-09-2009, 04:38 PM According to the PDF itself, it is "copy protected" not copyrighted. This "copy protection" allows for both printing, and high quality printing. but forbids copying information out of the PDF and into another file.
Furthermore, nowhere in the PDF's do they say they cannot be distributed. If Mazda wants to argue I can't distribute it, they need to tell me in the first place not after the fact, the PDF format does allow for watermarking, copyright notices, and other methods of notifying a user that the information contained within is restricted.
If Mazda would like me to take it down, They can PM me and I'll give them an address to file a DMCA takedown notice to.
delhi 03-09-2009, 05:40 PM Not long ago, I d/l a rx-8 service manual web app. It's amazing. From how to replace a Renesis to step by step PDI. there is no way the dealership would've gotten through all the required steps in PDI!
bellgy 03-12-2009, 05:03 AM greatly appreciated. so many links on google were dead ends. thanks.

teknics 04-17-2009, 01:30 PM Thanks a lot socket7, exactly what I needed! by the way, is this manual for all RX8s from 04-08?
each year's manual is supposed to have minor revisions applied to it from the previous year's service highlights manual. It doesnt always happen, but it is *supposed* to change every year.
kevin.
TwistedRotors 04-17-2009, 01:38 PM Thanks Socket7, never know when this will come in handy. ;-)

milesprwr 05-13-2009, 07:36 PM Hmmm, on the file 1Intro.pdf under the Scheduled Maintenance section it recommends Oil/Oil Filter changes every 7.5k miles for normal conditions and Oil/Oil Filter changes every 5k miles for unique conditions.
Thoughts?

Million threads about that, I personally change it at 3-3.5k miles.

That's what the owner's manual says, too. No car enthusiast ever believes that's often enough.
FWIW, there's a html version of the manual that lists almost every grade of oil you can imagine as being appropriate.

that is possible, but would u like dirty oil to keep cycling thru your oil system for that long ?
