So, I am taking my car out of storage (finally!). I returned my tags and took my car off of insurance while it was stored. Does anyone know what forms are required to register the car again?

Should always leave 'fire & theft' on in the winter, then it's a simple phonecall to reactivate the insurance.

....and how much did you save returning tags? $40? Now you have to spend the day at the DMV, suckah!

^We dont get to keep our tags/plates if we dont have car ins. We have to surrender your plates if you dont have car ins and cxl your car ins cuz your parking the car for x amount of months.

For the og poster:
You have to buy car ins first. Then the car has to pass smog. Now you can hit up the dmv and get that bad boy registered.
Show them the smog pass your ca ins card and tittle. Thats it.

Dropping insurance completely (and thus registration) for the winter is probably not worth it, since you have to pay the costs of reinspection and reregistration, and your car becomes not-covered if your house burns down or has a tree fall through it. Just have your insurance company drop it to storage status, comprehensive only basically. You will still save quite a bit of money, and don't have to turn in the tags.

They may let you slid eon the past emissions inspection, but I doubt it. I don't think it would be emissions inspection prior to the tags but one of those "you just registered a car, now you have X number of days to get it emissions inspected". I don't remember the emissions law down there any more :)

Just in case anyone has to do this, all you need to do is to fill out a form. That's it. No inspection.
