from my understanding, magnesium are lighter and quite a bit more expensive than the slightly heavier, less costly aluminum. i though someon said the magnesiums were around $5k for the set and about $2k for aluminum.

someone correct me?

low profile tyres + magnesium rims + street driven car = a hole LITERALLY burned in your pocket.

yea i did look at japan parts looking at around 700 for 18" aluminum PER RIM. i e-mailed chuck and the price is going to be 2500+ for a set of 4. i did look at the volks but im more of a 5 spokes rim guy then 6. would any of you know any other rims like the volks but with 5 spokes instead of 6?

How about a group buy on the Mazdaspeed rims to bring down the price?

Might also want to look into the Racing Hart CX, which were the rims on the original MazdaSpeed RX-8 pictures that were floating around.

Personally, I'm looking at a set of the Racing Hart CR, a 6-spoke version, for spring my self.

Here's a pic of the CX. They come in silver (shown), gold and graphite.
This is the rim that RH prototyped on the MazdaSpeed, and then put into production based on the response.

How many purchasers would be needed to bring the price down?
What could the eventual price be?

If you are looking into buying Volk Wheels, go to Mackinindustries.com, this is the official site for the wheels.
