rafaga 02-24-2009, 12:01 PM Apparently they are gone now :( Webpage says they are "In Stock", but when you proceed to checkout it tells you they are no longer available...too bad...
Nopstnz8 02-24-2009, 01:22 PM Does anyone know what Bridgestone is replacing these with? I love mine and and curious what will be comparable to them when I need to replace my current RE-01R's.

PBlue 02-24-2009, 04:22 PM Just ordered mine... SWEET. been waiting to get a set of these anyway and my stupid stupid stupid yokohamas are nearly dead... perfect!
and being replaced with RE11, which'll probably be better but also cost 1200-1400 for a set, while my RE01Rs just cost me 370$ shipped. ftw.
REsuperD 02-24-2009, 05:20 PM wow that is REALLY cheap. should i get them??? i have brand new uhp tires on my car right now...but these are SO cheap

re-11 I believe...
Optical TDI 02-25-2009, 12:10 AM How do these compare to the stock Dunlop 8090s? Turn in repsonse, dry traction, wet traction, sidewall flex, etc.?
swoope 02-25-2009, 12:34 AM conner??????
245 45 17 ????
beers
JeRKy 8 Owner 02-25-2009, 01:50 AM I know you can't really compare anything to the S-03 Pole Positions (which basically don't exist anymore) but is the performance of these tires even on the same level as the S-03s? Or is it a big drop in corneringing and turn in with these RE01rs?

probably better than the S-o2 Pole Positions. A little more dry grip. I had the S-o2's, and did not feel like they were all that great of a tire...and I have been through a ton of tires during almost 5 years of ownership.
These would be a great tire for the novice in AutoX, and even open road course tracking. And a great price too. Too bad I am not in the market.
RshnRoket 02-25-2009, 07:19 AM I have these tires on my car in the summer. Phenominal grip and a progressive slide once you overstep the limits of them, unlike the stock dunlops which once they lose grip, you're just about done for. Much more mechanical grip than stock as well.

the stock Dunlop's can't really be compared to these tires. It would make more sense to try to compare these to An Azenis, or Yoko Advan.
rafaga 02-25-2009, 10:15 AM LOL! You are right....I didn't even finish reading the post since I was so excited....I'm actually very glad to be wrong this time...

fullsmoke 02-25-2009, 11:40 AM Might anyone have pictures comparing re01r 225 and 245 width on the stock rim? I'm just curious as to see the actual width difference on the wheel.

Skinless 02-25-2009, 02:43 PM As of this morning both the 225's and 245's will be available March 8th. This was from another rep whose info I already had. I ordered a set of 225's for $364.24 shipped.
MotoGeno 02-25-2009, 03:23 PM Can't beat this deal on these tires, and for those asking about grip on these tires these were THE tires for ST classes at SCCA Nationals in '08. I just ordered me up some!
c0ldf1ame 02-25-2009, 04:02 PM just ordered thanks!
deduce25 02-25-2009, 04:25 PM Damn to late!!
Tirerack is completely out. I was also told that they took more orders then actually tires that they actually have so everyone who did order cross your fingers.
maskedferret 02-25-2009, 06:06 PM It is unfortunate that these are UTQG 180 (not allowed for stock class) or else I would have dropped my backordered Azenis immediately. I am still kicking myself for not going for the S-03 deal before.
Markincleveland 02-25-2009, 08:13 PM I ordered a pair of the closeout tires. So do I take the car to the track with the original Dunlop SP8090 and burn them up or show up with the new tires?

Confused....... how are these not legal for stock class? You can run R Compound Hoosiers but you can't run 140 treadwear street tires?
risky business 02-25-2009, 11:44 PM dude.
1. thats a huge ass sig lol
2. your so gonna hit that cone in the picture on the right.

*blink* Hmm... maybe it's street tire class I am thinking of? Not sure... looking into it now.
maskedferret 02-25-2009, 11:57 PM Well alrighty then, 140 is the minimum in street tire class (in my region at least). The wait is until May? :( Calling you in the morning, Connor. I missed out on the S-03s... I am NOT missing out on these!
MotoGeno 02-26-2009, 12:19 PM dude.
2. your so gonna hit that cone in the picture on the right.
Ha, I didn't touch it at all!
MotoGeno 02-26-2009, 12:25 PM Well alrighty then, 140 is the minimum in street tire class (in my region at least).
140 is the minimum treadwear rating for all SCCA Street Touring (street tire) classes - like I said before, if you were going to win at Nationals in an ST class last year then you were running these tires.
maskedferret 02-26-2009, 01:59 PM Tires ordered; thanks, Connor!

Ah, well I wasn't making the connection that Street Touring (ST) == Street Tire.
ndhoffma 02-27-2009, 11:39 AM Tires ordered.....

connor@tirerack 02-27-2009, 01:31 PM Thank you for everyone who ordered through me directly. It is always appreciated. Sorry to all for the delayed response. Since i am no longer an active sponsor i apparently don't get email updates on threads i take part in so i wasn't aware of the responses. I just wanted to update everyone about the availability of the RE01R's is currently.

MotoGeno 03-11-2009, 04:37 PM Just got mine today... wont be installing them right away though, gotta wear out the old tires a bit more
yeah, I feel your pain...I'm trying to burn up the oem's before the next state competition. I'm at 6,700 miles and I'm on the wearbars. Ouch
ndhoffma 03-11-2009, 04:45 PM My current tires are actually all right, but knowing Id need some sometime this summer, I figured this deal was worth it
risky business 03-11-2009, 05:36 PM i wonder how much 2 245.40.18 tires would be shipped to 32082?
PBlue 03-12-2009, 06:31 AM i wonder how much 2 245.40.18 tires would be shipped to 32082?
1) They're sold out.
2) Why would you buy only two?
3) I just got your PM... wtf?
hoss -05 03-18-2009, 08:07 PM What a deal.... it really is to bad i missed out!
risky business 03-18-2009, 08:57 PM 1) They're sold out.

3) I just got your PM... wtf?
2) because i dont rotate, so i wear out my rears before my fronts, i do this so i only have to by 2 tires at a time. its harder to fork over twice as much money at once, even if i do it half as much.
3) sorry, i had no idea i would have to pay 470 out of pocket for slipping my tires for half a second on accident.
PBlue 03-19-2009, 06:35 AM but if you change front and rear tires differently and have different grip levels on them it messes with your handling.
risky business 03-19-2009, 01:27 PM yeah, but i kind of like that. the fronts ALWAYS have more grip do to the way i have it set up so they wear like this...
New Tires, put old fronts in rear
grip levels way to high to use on street, fun driving, ultimate grip.
rear starting to wear some, tail will come out if you really push it, very fun powerslides.
rear loses it all the time, drifting, fun.
rear down to threads, buy new tires again
