Now here is a strange question (maybe). Who had their cargo net installed by themselves? I got one from Trussville, and while the upper two hooks were a doddle to put in, the lower two seem to be a real bitch. The instructions say to just push firmly into the hole from which you took out the plastic rivet. Yeah right... also, they mention that "supporting the plastic panel from behind during installation may be necessary". WTF??? How can someone support the panel from behind when it is installed into place???

The rubber grommet with that metal insert is too big to be pushed into the existing hole, and I already messed up one of those grommets while trying. Did anyone have a similar problem and what did you do to overcome the issue?

Hi Tamas, this has been mentioned before by 2 other members trying to do their cargo net install. You will need to open the 2 bottom holes up more, may need to do some drilling. Do a search and see if you can find the posts. good luck!

Doh! Thanks... should have searched first. :o
Now the only thing is that as mentioned, I already messed up one of the grommets while trying - and not only that, but while doing so, I accidentally dropped the tiny nut (that was inside the grommet) into the dark depths of the trunk... ever noticed how easy is to lose little nuts, bolts and the like in a car?
So I guess now I have to find some alternate method to secure the lower two anchors - something that will make them stay in place just as snug as the upper two. Damn!

Man, don't open the holes up further. I just took a hammer and gently tapped the two pieces into the holes then tightened them up. It worked fine.

Not really... I just have one in the Probe GT and found it very useful when buying groceries... you know, the RX-8 as grocery getter :p

As for tapping - I tried that... no dice. I tapped, and then even BANGED on it - wouldn't go in place. Actually, that was the way how I messed up that grommet.

Hey, by the way... if you're Miklós, then your English name should be Nicholas, not Michael :p

I tapped 'em in with a hammer; there's no give at first then they go in all at once, nice and snug.

I was unsuccesful with doing this, so I am one of the ones that drilled a larger hole. This was back in August & it worked perfectly for me.
