Just wondering if anyone out there has installed a push-button starter on their rx8. If so, DIY or pay someone to do it. Info?

Is the starter button an option in the US?
I know it definatly is in japan but not here in AUS :(

No, its not in the US. Some american ordered it from japan but don't know if he put it in yet. The kicker is, you still need the key and turn it one or two clicks but don't crank the engine. then push the button to start. Many of us think that's dumb. If it were like the Prius where you simply carry a transponder in your pocket, no key, and the car senses your proximity allowing the button to work, now THAT would be way cool. but alas.

Hey, maybe we could get a Prius button and put it in the '8. anyone think of that?
