Couldn't find winter tires anywhere. I asked my dealer to help and they did! Apparently they contacted the people at Mazda that deal with tires and found me a set of four just in time for the snow to hit.

Not much road noise and great traction so far. I opted for 17" rims and it has worked out just fine. Silvercloud -where in Ohio are you? I'm in Cleveland and haven't seen many around. silvercloud 12-15-2003, 06:25 PM I'm in Cincinnati - so far I've seen 3 on the road - and at least one in the parking garage at work. I've had the car since Aug. 24th. VelocityRedRX8 12-15-2003, 07:08 PM silvercloud - I'm in Cincinnati also. Maybe see you on the road sometime. :) I also got some Blizzaks on 17" rims. The are working out well so far! silvercloud 12-15-2003, 07:18 PM Velocity- I may have spotted you on 275 in a heavy rain one day? I have a silver 8. Efini 8 12-20-2003, 05:18 AM what is a BLIZZACK? Gord96BRG 12-20-2003, 11:04 AM Originally posted by Efini 8 what is a BLIZZACK? Bridgestone Blizzak, their brand name for their winter tire lines. There are several models of Blizzak winter tires. The performance winter tire is the Blizzak LM-22 (good choice for RX-8), then there is the super mushy, horrible on dry pavement Blizzak WS-50 (not as good choice for any sports car, but still infinitely safer in winter conditions than the OEM tires), and a few others. Regards, Gordon ranger4277 12-21-2003, 12:13 AM LM-22 seems to be a popular choice here in Ohio :) Efini 8 12-21-2003, 08:28 PM oh nevermind then, I live in the Sunshine state, there is no such thing as winter tires here muahaha! |
