Cold brakes:

EDIT (it's been a lot of posts!)
From 100km/h (62 mph): 36 meters (~118.110 feet).

And from Buger's correction down below, mathematic computation shows 60-0 stopping distance to be ~110ft.

Thanks Buger!

111.124 feet:) that is a great stopping distance. Thanks for the conversion (too lazy to do it myself).

For your comparison, a BMW M3 stops in 112 feet from 60 miles per hour. :)

Haha, better than the M3 for a lot less $.

That's only a one stop though. How will be brakes feel after 25 consecutive stops? This apparently is how Porsche designs their brakes, 25 stops WITHOUT FADE

Hopefully pretty well. The Mazda6 fared rather well in this area so I think the RX-8 will as well.

Herc,

I'm disappointed in you... :(

First of all, I'll let you read the graph again to find the 100km/h - 0 distance.

Secondly, distance in braking does not decrease linearly with speed. We went over this exact same discussion in the following thread:

http://www.rx8forum.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=1175

To recap: The 62 - 0 mph braking distance is approx 118 ft. Math shows the 60 - 0 mph braking distance at approx 110 ft.

Sorry, been a lot of posts and I was doing it haphazardly. I hit 35 into the calculator and just went with that number, without checking.

Edited for you though :)
