Cork Sport shows some sick lemon green-yellow in their ad? Is this primer and you have to paint them yourselves or do they sell colors I wonder?

They definitly look sinister on the 8 in the other pics I saw from Japan!

is it just me or do eyelids not make the cars front look better?!, i have been looking at some of the pics from the japanese meets and i think eyelids especially on red(maybe im being bias) make the car look way nicer.....
anyone else have this opinion? im also looking to order some? does anyone know where i could invest in some?

They make your car look 'sleepy'. It's pretty hideous imo...

to each his is own.....exactly
i like the look of them on some cars...and some colors....i like them on the red 8's but i dont think i would like them on a yellow one for instance...i just think it may take away from the looks of the car....my 2 cents!

I personally like them. They make the rx-8 look aggressive.

The headlights on the RX-8 are already squinting. So why does a little more squinting make it hideous?

Personally, I love them!! I think it makes it look much meaner. Don't like them? Don't get them. But I really like them. Especially on the RED!!

I have a question though. Do they come painted?

mikeb
08-30-2003, 03:02 PM
For 193.00 I hope they come painted. I dont think our paint is out yet so I don't think it can be matched by paint shops

Blackbeard - Alot of questions because you're the first to have them that I know of. Thank you in advance for your help.

Where did you buy them? How much did they set you back and do they all come unpainted? If so, what are we looking to pay to get them the color of our cars? How do they attach to the car - adhesive/ clips?

blackbeard

I bought them from rotaryextreme.com for $150. That is the cheapest price around. I always do my research! They are made from a flexible black plastic. You would have to get them painted from an auto body shop even if u have a black rx8, like myself. The back of the eyelid has and adhesive tape which would tape to the headlight cover. I might take the adhesive tape off a replace it with Velcro. This way when u take ur car to a store or a mall u can take the eyelid off and place it in ur car. For $150 and getting it painted from an auto body shop u don't want someone ripping them off ur car. I'm going to an auto body shop tomorrow to get an estimate. I will let u know how much the total price will cost.

If you have to worry about someone ripping them off your car, and you're going to get velcro to take them with you, I see that in no way being worth it. I can't imagine carrying eyelids while walking around the mall, let alone telling people that I walk around with that I have my car's headlight covers with me.

While you're at it, take your mudflaps and muffler tips too. That way you can rest easy while you're walking around the mall.

has anyone thought of just having the eyelids just painted on the lens of the car by a professional shop.

With the quality of the lense, I would probably think the paint would eventually come off, or even melt perhaps due to the brightness of the xeno. I doubt that would be a worthy idea

thanks BB

rotary extreme is the best shop so far

I didn't even want eyelids till I saw them in person on vividracing's rx8, they look great

keep us posted BB

BB - I understand your concern w.r.t. the eyelids being stolen. I would just hope the RX8 is being purchased by a group of individuals that wouldn't do that sort of thing. Who really knows though. I would tend to think that only custom wheels or stereo equipment would the things that would be at risk. I have had both of those items stolen from my cars in the past. Its not fun and it always makes you think, "Will this happen to me again?"

I choose to enjoy it while I have it and if it gets 'jacked' than thats what I pay insurance for. JMO.
