I'd post them up but most finds come from elsewhere and I'm just reveling in that fact right now; I want all the media :)

PowerArchiver is what I use... best program I've found yet.

Just do a search on Download.com and if you want it cracked there's sites for that too .... *whistle*

I'm on a mac and have StuffIt Expander™. It works fine for me! ;)

These images are "printing*" reproduction quality
- * used in printing those brochures with all those nice images. :D

Edit: FYI - these are CMYK not RGB color formated. CMYK is the standard for all 4 color process printing

I had down loaded the press kit. Looked at it; went back the next day to print it and I just get the message: acrord32 has caused error in acrord32.exe
I tried down loading the press kit again and got message that I did not have the pass word. Tried to open the first one again and same error message comes up. Can someone help? Thanks

Thanks for the share! However, after downloading Power Archiever and a whole range of shitty programs....the ESP files will not open.

The closest i got to was a BLACK and WHITE pic....crap.

Can anyone be such a kind soul as to email me the pics? Thanks!

Cheers,

There is a PDF file available at rotarynews.com If I did this corectly then click to download:almost 30meg Press kit as PDF (http://images.rotarynews.com/docs/NAIAS2003_RX-8_PressKit_pdf.zip)

Hope I didn't screw it up ( :( first post) or duplicate info posted elsewhere.

Best regards,

I got to thinking... if the port was stuck it was stated that the horsepower numbers were close to the lo-power version so 210hp..... and what approx 159 lb/ft

And I looked up what the performance of the last Honda Prelude was (200hp @ 7000rpm, 3054lbs with 156lb/ft) and it ran to 60 in about 6.8 seconds (of course I'm sure this wasn't a 7500rpm clutch drop sprint to 60)

So my guess from a comparison standpoint the C&D and R&T cars were probably performing correctly... to be almost a whole second faster (this is of course if they actually ran it to 60... wasn't there a question with a magazine just publishing the manufactures number?)

I'm not sure if anyone already noticed this, but on page 69 of that presskit the max output for the hi power 6speed (north america) as 247kw/250ps @8500 rpm.

247KW equates to 330hp, but that 247 is also listed as the figure for horsepower on page 21.

just wondering if anyone else had noticed this typo. just a flight of fancy to imagine the 8 with 330hp.

On the pdf specs (and elsewhere) the turning circle 'curb-to-curb' is stated as 5.3 meters, thats less than 18 feet - am I missing something - is that perhaps the inside diameter? Should it not be about twice that?

Ray.

Ray. I brought that up a few months ago. We all agreed the menat to say RADIUS not diameter. The numbers are still much better than a G35 coupe and about the same as the 350Z.

Doctorr

In that case (radius vs diameter) it IS exactly twice that....
Thanks for clearing that up.

Way cool site to look at. Yeah I had trouble opening it also at 1st using XP even. I bought an Olympus digital camera last year and it included Elements 2.0. This program has great ability to open many formats. Once opened, I saved and converted the files to JPG files.

Some web page design programs may be able to open eps.

Cool site and I also like the screen saver, giving the day, time, and date.

I've been puzzling over the "rainbow" false color images on the craftmanship image page of this press kit. They aren't really labeled or explained and their peaked my curiosity. I downloaded some of the text from the site, but none of it mentioned these images. I have two possible guesses:

A - Some kind of crash deformation results. (I'm looking forward to seeing some crash testing on the RX-8 to see if my 8 is really as safe as they have been claiming.)

or

B - Some kind of thermal heat map in order to show the effectiveness of the climate control system.

Any thoughts anyone? Am I the only one who found these interesting?

Humm I see what you mean. I don't know what they are - but I was impressed with the images where you can "magically" see the internal workings under the skin of the car. Really nice.

Got the answer. See page 92 of the press pack. They show pressure distribution on the seats. Although they're not that clear.
