mjd628 07-23-2010, 04:39 AM why are u trying to get rid of it? i was thinking about getting one soon.... any complaints?
winning_blue 07-23-2010, 02:09 PM well me personally I have no complaints..people bash it all the time and call it a "hot air" intake. I noticed no performance loss (my opinion) and it sounds amazing when you floor it. As far as the hot air comment, I guess it's good I live up north with a vented hood! Don't let the haters sway you any other way..it's an amazing quality intake.

Yeah up North where were experiencing 95+ degree weather for the last couple months. Just kidding! I have it as well and have noticed no adverse performance effects. I have had it for 2+ years now. I use the revi to push cold air to it. I am also looking into a vented hood but don't care for the carbon fiber look so would have to paint it to match the car.
winning_blue 07-23-2010, 03:07 PM ^^terch, how did you hook the revi up!? and yeah; if we would notice any gains we'd probably see them during the fall/early winter months! theres some cold air for haters..
winning_blue 07-23-2010, 03:07 PM and not to thread jack, someone buy this. good price for a good intake!

I had the revi installed with my stock intake and stock bumper. When I originally put the Typhoon intake on I removed the revi. When I got my new aftermarket bumper installed I gave the body shop the revi duct and had them modify it. they had to extend it a bit to have it reach the opening in the aftermarket bumper. So I guess to answer your question the body shop basically took the original and customized it for my particular application. I really notice no difference with it or without it but felt it was a good time to reinstall it while my bumpers were being swapped. Sorry I couldn't help more!
winning_blue 07-23-2010, 03:45 PM that's so sick..hmm I wonder ha. got any pics of it?
ShinkaTeen 07-23-2010, 03:56 PM theres nothing wrong with it, it sounds awesome and its not "Loud" like people say it is.
but on my original rx-8 i had an AEM(i lost it in my young disrespect for the mountain)... i have an hks legamax as my exhaust so thats why i want to hear what it sounds like paired with the hks intake + its retarded expensive.
my interested in the injen is mainly because ive never had one
and the mazdaspeed intake because it would look sweet next to my mazda speed strut.

Unfortunately I have no pics since all the fabrication is done beneath the bumper. I should have asked the guy who owns the shop to take pictures. However, I was told that it was fabricated from fiberglass. All I can see is the air collector and 4 bolts coming through the chasis in front of the air intake area.
winning_blue 07-23-2010, 04:24 PM wow..if you ever take the bumper off snag some pics! thanks man
