new tires

im sure this is already on this site somewhere but new tires come out all the time so i guess this could be looked at as an update...im looking for new tires for my 8 and need some suggestions. im not going to go into the huge list of tires im looking at ill just say that im going to autocross a few times this year(not trying to be super competitive though)and will need them to last until the end of the summer. oh and im trying to stay under $200 a tire. thanks in advance for all your help!

Look into the Falken 612s. They have tons of great reviews from people on this forum.

Falken 612's about $160 a tire
OR
Nitto INVO's about $150 a tire

falkens are alittle more hardcore from what i have read, i have the nitto's and i love them. either is a good choice

No such thing as a Falken 612. It's the RT-615. Those would be a good choice. There are threads in this forum within the last few months asking your exact question, please use the search button before posting a new thread.

subatomicparticle - Are you really suggesting that this guy get r888's for daily driving and a couple of auto-x a year? That is probably the worst suggestion I've heard all year. If you daily drive on r888's, that's the biggest waste of a tire ever.

^^ I would be curious to know since I have those.
I can't answer your question because I've never auto-x with them, but they do handle pretty well as a daily driver.

Sumitomo HTR Z III's. They are superb for daily driving and should be able to withstand an event or two. I believe I paid $120ish per tire when I got mine (245/40/18). I'm not a tire guru, but they stick to the road like glue.
